Default What stats do you look for when choosing a table and why ?

I find the best tables are high players/flop and big pots tables because that is usually where the fish are.Being a tight player,i want to get on these type of tables.Waiting on good hands and stack the loose fish throwing their money around.Ifind that this makes a lot more money doing this than to swap coolers with a bunch of nits.

I don't find table stats mean much. I don't know how many hands they are based on or whether a big average is because someone got AA vs KK for stacks or some other shit a couple hands ago,

I like using colour codes and looking through the lobby for fish or searching on HM with table scanner.

It depends on a combination of factors, so I don't look for the same things every time. For example, there are times when I look for loose tables with high percentage seeing flops. Other times, however, I feel like playing less active tables. Even though they're less profitable over the long run, the difference isn't always enough for me to min-max.

Other times, I look for tables with opponents against whom I have a solid edge, especially if I can get position a seat or two to their left.

Sorry for putting this thread in the wrong spot.
I'm new here but i'll learn since i plan on sticking around.

There are a million ways to play poker and also a million ways to look at poker. To colour codes and to label there percentages wise, were all after the same thing,to be profitable at the tables. To play at the tables alot you get to know players as well as to get to label them for what we believe they are worth.I don't play them often thats why i tend to look for the big pots and high player traffic because it means more of an advantage to find fishes and donks that are willing to play loose.

Default Table selection stats - Micro FR

I normally sort the tables by VPIP. However, I tag all the fish (vpip 30%+ pfr 10-) and whales (vpip 40%+ pfr 10-) I find and wont enter a table unless there is at least two fish or one whale. By selecting higher VPIP tables with at least someone I know to be poor I am guaranteed to be in a reasonable situation and can tag other players as I find them.

If tables are poor in any session either move down a level to get more tables or reduce your requirements. Perhaps one fish is enough?!?

    Hope this helps.

I normally don't care about lobby table stats because I'll open about 5 or 6 tables to start and let the fish swim in...once the table fills up then I'll stay there until the table vp$p falls below about 20%ish and leave to open another.

Edit: @RPM - hopefully this gives you a bit more info about why my stats are as loose as they are

Lobby table stats are usually an average over the last 10 hands or so, and represent a ridiculously small sample. Still, I go for the tables with high % of players per flop, since this usually indicated a loose table with at least 2 or more fish.

I don't put much stock in the average pot size, since it can be averaging in a massive pot that was the result of a cooler.

When loading up tables I have them sorted by #players/largest pot/players flop in descending order. I don't have full tables in the lobby so I just click on the top 6-8 tables and join them. I always see the highlighted table come back on in the lobby when others quit and it's all over the place in terms of stats. I ain't sitting at a table after 5-6 orbits unless I see money coming from somewhere easy, so when a table pops in the lobby with me at it and it's a mile down the list I wonder how much any of it really matters. Besides, micro stakes regs are middle stakes donks right. Just learn to beat them all.
