I disagree.
Withdraw with moderation obviously, but to get stuff from your poker money is great for motivation.
Plus what eragotte said.
And at what point are you no longer "building a roll?". When you become a break-even bonus whore?
I'm withdrawing for a couple of reasons:
To buy stuff
To get interests: having five figures online isn't incredibly smart. Better put it in a savings account.
As a long-term stop-loss. - I'm not a tilt monkey, but I like the security of knowing that account-busto is not the end of my poker career.
To stop me from moving up! - At the rate I've been going between 5NL and 100NL - moving up every 20k hands or so, I really wasn't supremely confident that I was beating even the current stake that I was playing. So I cashed out ~10 buy-ins, and regrind.
And recently to pay some bills. I like to have a buffer of about 6 months of expenses in my bank account. When I drop below that, I try to fill it up again.
