I've been through pretty big downswings (ranging from 20 to 40 buy-ins) without a problem, and I would be absolutely thrilled if I made $50k this year. Emotionally I'm in pretty good shape.

The goal of $250k is something I've decided on because it's a nice round even number that I think I can get if I work hard for it. To give you an idea, if I just played 20 hours a week at just 1 ptbb/100 at 200nl, I'd make over $60k this year.

No problem. =) I have confidence in my game because I'm a long-term winner at 100nl, working on being a long-term winner at 200nl, and I play on a really deep bankroll. Also I know that with the way I monitor myself and analyze my results, I'll see if something is going askew before it becomes a big deal. I work on my game in some way every single day because I've seen what happens when you get too comfortable with yourself.

Apologies for the partial thread hijack.
There's a thread in the full ring forum (pretty sure it's a sticky) where Renton describes a lot of reasons that people could/should play full ring instead of 6-max. If you're coming from an MTT background, it's probably easier to make the transition to full ring cash.

In the long run I don't know which it would be better to start with as long as you're open and honest with yourself about improving and learning.
