^ just re-read my post, and i wonder how much longer i'll be doing the pro-poker gig. It's been a while now. May 2008 and i reduced my work to 18hrs/week for a year, may 2009 and i switched to poker completely. Wow. Almost four years. I know that a lot can be said about my poker incompetence and lack of motivation or failure at mid-stakes or whatever, but at the same time i'm a little bit proud of the fact that i have supported myself in a comfortable lifestyle involving quite a bit of travel and adventure all via playing the occasional hour or two of cards on the internet. Fuck. Four years. Ridiculous. And kinda cool. Life is a wonderful thing.

And reading. I'm re-reading Once Were Warriors for the first time since seeing the movie years ago. And it's as hard and beautiful as it ever was. Want an insight into despair and the underbelly and life - then read it. Otherwise, simply watch the movie. Also highly recommended. And then dwell on the fact that Jake was the hero in the eyes of many who viewed it, and that ' -the-muss' became a title that was as coveted as a belt, but with more deadly consequences..
