Default Build a roll in case of emergency

"Most of the money you'll win at poker comes not from the brilliance of your own play, but from the ineptitude of your opponents." - Lou Krieger

    Aims
Reach $30 and start playing standard $2NL 9Max
    Reach $80 and start playing $5NL 9Max
    Reach $200 and start playing $10NL 9Max
    Reach $625 and start playing $25NL 9Max

Started playing $2NL 9Max shallow tables with $4.03 in my account yesterday and currently at around $15, so lets hope this heater continues for a while.

I am basically just want to bulid a solid roll so incase I do need some money I have it available to me, obviously I dont want to take money out but there is a chance in the next year I am going to be short of money and having some in my roll, would be a big relief.

Biggest winner so far, a massive $2.67 pot!

    Hero (MP1) ($2.18)
    MP2 ($0.37)
    CO ($0.80)
    Button ($0.74)
    SB ($0.54)
    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K, K
    BB bets $0.08, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.08, Hero raises to $0.38, 4 folds, BB raises to $0.40 (All-In), UTG+1 calls $0.32, Hero calls $0.02
    Flop: ($1.25) 9, 9, Q (3 players, 1 all-in)
    UTG+1 bets $0.71 (All-In), Hero calls $0.71
    Turn: ($2.67) K (3 players, 2 all-in)
    River: ($2.67) 3 (3 players, 2 all-in)

Messed up preflop raise size, so could only call the $0.02, need pay more attention to that.

    Cheers for comments.

Should be moving up to the standard $2NL 9Max tables by friday at the lastest, as my roll is close to $25 at the minute and the players are nearly as bad as me.

    Weekly targets
At least 15 hours grinding a week, should be possible even with uni.
At least 5 hours work away from tables, like studying new concepts.
Post at least 2 hands a week in here with ranges and equity.

Run good ended couple of days ago and have had quite a few coolers since then, even though I have been running above ev when the money goes in. Bankrolls at around $20 and I just want to hit $30 quite soon as I prefer playing with 100bb stacks. I dont think I am playing that well either so I need to work on that.

Good luck on your overall operation! Your off to a good sound start and all you have to do is keep it going. Your "heater" hasn't ended but your variance has begun. Sounds like you are relatively new to the game so start off with all the correct habits, aka: a solid foundation. Make sure you are putting everybody on a range, estimate your equity with on each street etc. DON'T concern yourself with volume ie only play one or two tables while you are building that foundation.

The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck."

Completed the first stage of my operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I managed to get from $4.01 to $30 by playing $2NL 9Max Shallow tables. I played about 7500 hands, and ran at 15.49 bb/100, which I have no idea if thats good or not

Anyway starting tomorrow I am going to start the grind of $30 to $80 playing the $2NL 9Max regular tables. If i get off to a bad start I am going to move back to the shallow tables if my bankroll hits $20.

I was 6 tabling the shallow tables, but as harley said I really need to nail the foundation down if I am ever going to get anyway at NL, so I am going to start by one tabling and going to concentrate on taking notes and putting people of ranges. Then move up to two etc. when I feel comfortable doing so.

Getting absolutely destroyed at the tables at the minute, need to play one table, which even though I said i was going to do I didn't. Need to put some study time in aswell, the thing is though I have been going out a lot at university and I haven't had much time for poker and when I finally do have time I don't want to be playing one table or studying. I want to be six tabling and raking in the money but it obviously doesnt work like that.
