Default Confessions of a losing poker player

Alright so I know this is only my second post but I reckon i'm at a turning point and am gonna try to get my shit together so why not start a operation.

So about a year and a half ago I deposited 50 bucks into party and now have about 25 bucks left. Been just short of 500 soooooooo many times but I always go on tilt, play drunk etc blah blah same old shit. Biggest thing i'm doing about it is i'm gonna start posting and trying to actively get better. Also I just got a neteller account and once i clear up some bank shit (hopefully tomorrow) I'm gonna clear some bonuses with my shiny new $500 BR I'm thinking i'll get an account with stars to start with cuz i don't have any reload bonuses on party at the moment and want something easy to clear first.

Latter when i can be bothered i'll post a long list of my (known) leaks so that I can look back on this when i'm crushing 50nl on 10+ tables and say what a douche.

Oh yeah if in six months my bankroll is less then $500 or i'm not satisfied with my progress i'll quit poker.

Why don't you take those 25 dollars and grind your way up to 500 dollars in penny stakes?

pig vomit -- did you ever post on OJ? I knew a guy over there by that name. Maybe it's more common than I thought.

Ok so my bank shit still isn't sorted (fuck i hate banks) which is probably a good thing because i'm too stressed to play due to work and other bank crap.

Why don't you take those 25 dollars and grind your way up to 500 dollars in penny stakes?
Because i'm an idiot and that is far to sensible. I dunno alot of reason that 25 dollars I got from party points and was busto a couple days ago when i decided to do this. I just feel I need a fresh start and want to signify taking the next step. Also i'm thinking playing for bonuses instead putting all my focus on my swinging BR might help my play.

Never posted anywhere ever. (well maybe once or twice here under a different name over a year ago lol)

So yeah plan is still hit stars play 10nl take shots at 25nl depending on success. Also thinking of buying 'Hold'em Manager' never really used a HUD but would be good to replay big hands.

i highly recommend pwning the penny tables and working your way up from the bottom. Very seldom does anyone have success without paying their dues first.

If you want to build your bankroll by bonus whoring, great! just don't think that since you have $500 in your account all of a sudden that now you're ready for 25NL. Whenever I clear a bonus, I withdrawal the $ and put it aside.

Alright so a list of leaks in no particular order and how i plan to fix them.

    1. Playing drunk. Quite probably my biggest leak I can destroy months of work in one Blury night in front of the computer screen.
Poker or booze one vice only

    2. Tilt. I tilts bad.
Two BI stop limit for every session.

    3. Heads up SNGs. They're like crack and require a lota focus that I don't have.
No HU for a long time

    4. Not paying attention. I very rarely don't have other windows up doing other shit and basically just play my hole cards.
    Focus (duh!) maybe shorter sessions?

    5. Not putting people on hands. This ties in with #4.
Only play 4 tables for now and actively try and put people on a range.

    6. Not looking for tells, reads or betting patters. I'd like to start using a hud to do this but realistically if I'm gonna get any good I need to be able to do this. Probably ties in with not being focused.
Try to keep track of the more active players at the table.

Thats it for now i know their is ALOT more but they either stem from these or their specific spots i hope to figure out by posting hands. Hopefully writing them down is the first step in overcoming them.

start with $200 on stars, play $5nl until you reach $250, move up to 10nl and finish clearing the $50 first deposit bonus - then start looking around/thinking about other bonuses. Where are you based?

I started $200 last year, pulled out $5k recently and still have a bunch online. It can be done.

Thats for all the good advice guys. I agree I may not be ready for 25nl. New plan is use the extra monies as an extra br cushion which I need and let me clear bonuses. Any how I didn't get the full 500 cuz of bank bull shit (did i mention i hate banks) and exchange rates (i'm in australia) so I got 400 instead putting my current br at 435.

In other news I've started playing only 4 tables tiled which i've realised is alot better for me right now.

Anyone want to refer me to stars? I still get the bonus and they don't offer rakeback right?

no stars account for me, and you're right - they don't offer rakeback.

You should download HEM and use the free trial, I think you get 5000 hands - which should last a while if you're 4-tabling! You'll figure out for yourself if it's worth buying after that - you can probably get it for free though. A few of the little poker sites you won't ever want to play on much have HEM as a sign-up bonus. Sign-up, clear HEM, pull your money out and never play there again. I haven't done this myself, but I'm pretty sure it's possible.

where in oz? i'm in wellington, nz.

Yeah I'll definetly do this i've been useing the free trial of poker tracker and not really digging it as much as i thought i would. Is their a good sticky about interpreting hud stats it all means jibberish to me? I'm in melbourne.

Just played a really short session and realised i'm having alot of trouble paying attention and trying to put people on hands. I think i've played so much shitty passive poker that it's just become habbbit to tune out when i play. I'm toying with the idea of playing a single table for a while and just focusing on trying to put people on a range.

First up, you put people on ranges rather than hands. It's almost impossible to put players on a specific hands - instead you speculate on their likely holdings based on pre-flop play (=pre-flop range), and then narrow this down based on post-flop play and behaviour.

It will start to make sense after you;ve played with a hud for a while.
I wrote something about how to arrive at an understanding of what preflop stats may mean with respect to ranges just a few days ago - in my post at the bottom of this thread:
    http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ds-t75548.html

I'm not sure if there are any good articles on interpreting these stats - as long as you know what they mean you should go ok. PT2/3 are both good, I abandoned PT3 cos I was getting a whole lot of system instability - it doesn't cope well with heavy multi-tabling... but the HUD content and form are both fine.

melbourne.. i haven't got to victoria yet - too much time up northeast..

also, for some insights on ranges - go search the beginners forum for threads called "Hand reading..." Robb posted a few of these, here's one:

Only play 2 tables! to start. Make sure you can put people on hands on each table before you add anyothers. This has to be one of the biggest ways to make $$ and save $$. Knowing what your opponent has.
    3 3 3 I'm only half evil.

Thanks for all the great input guys. Daven I especially liked your first link. I've put $50 on stars so i'm gonna start slooooooowly clearing that while I practice putting people on ranges. I left the rest on teller incase party offers a reload bonus. Also gonna try out HEM.

Finally got hem working (had some problems installing) and still getting used to stars. Been playing too many tables again but i'll stop and start practicing useing the hud.

I've had a semi productive weekend. Been on a bit of a heater (my bb/100 is like 60 lol) and so i'm up a few BI. Kinda lost sight of my plan to just focus on putting people on a range but i'll start again tomorrow after work. Also I bought a new car

    BR $508
    Percentage of bonus cleared 34/500

    WARNIG!!! BAB BEAT WHINING AHEAD...

Okay nothing like a downswing to put things back in perspective. Been playing stupid again playing to many tables, not paying attention and generally being stupid. Last night I lost a couple BI in a couple of minutes. At least I didn't keep playing (the old me would have) so...

After a run like that I'd be steaming, and I hope that i would have the discipline to stop. I'm impressed that you stopped - illustrates (as if we needed further illustration!) the importance of sound bankroll management.

hand 1 is standard, but a cooler not a badbeat.
hand 2 you got your money in ahead, nice.
hand 3 you could maybe bet the river a little lighter, but the hand is fine - although folding AJo from UTG is also an option. Again, not technically a badbeat.
hand 4 again you got your money in ahead. Preflop you should have 4-bet a little harder, to $1.20 is good given stack sizes.
    hand 5 very nice.
  21. #21
hand 3 is a clear fold preflop imo, precisely to avoid situations like the one you put yourself in.

Considering the old me would get drunk and chase loses at HU SNGs i'm prettty proud of this.

Okay so from the last post you can probably guess that my last session went similar to the one before it. Was going to post hands but the Hand Converter isn't working for some reason.

Don't think i'll play tonight. Too tired from work and still tilted.
  24. #24
Had a good session last night and no longer tilted (for now).

    BR $504

Party has offered me a 100% bonus up to $500 So I just cashed out of stars (i'm only 64/500 to clearing the bonus but I figure I got ages) and i'm moving back to party. Problem is how long the cash out is taking. I got $50 back immediately but I have to wait 70 odd hours for them to process the rest. I don't want deposit less than the full $500 on party so i'm stuck.

I gots $440 currently in neteller ready to go. do I just deposit that or go crazy waiting for stars to process cash out? It sucks because I was really keen to grind today too

A word of warning/advice. Party bonus offers are often not as good as they first appear.

I recommend that you check the clearing conditions on this bonus. It appears to be released in $100 increments, you have 10 days to clear it, and you have to accrue 800 party points for each $100.

You get 2 points for every 20 raked hands played at 25nl, say 7/10 hands are raked, that means 2 points for every 30 hands. That means you'll be getting $100 for every 12k hands... I'm not convinced that it's worth it. Anyway, to clear the whole $500 you'll have to play a lot of hands.
  26. #26
God damn it Daven why do you have to be so freaken right?

Had a look at the terms. I got some multipliers with party but it's still unrealistic. Probably should have looked at this first... Thanks for stoping me from making a dumb mistake.

I was really happy bout this too

i deposited the $500, cos the terms in my bonus offers said 2x points, but then it showed up as 8x once deposited. Lucky I had a screen shot of the original offer. Now I'm fighting it out with party poker support...

    extract follows:

No, I do not understand. I do not understand that 2x and 8x are the same.
Your explanation is unclear. I have a degree in mathematics, I'm not stupid. Please try to explain again.
    2x points = 2x 500 = 1000 points to clear the entire bonus.
    200 points for every $100.

    I quote:

"If the player deposits $500, they will get back 5 lots of $100. They
    must wager a total of 8 x 500 PartyPoints (1.6 x 5 slabs) = 4000
PartyPoints. The release requirements for each slab are therefore 4000
    divided by 5 = 800 PartyPoints per slab, i.e. for each $100."

this makes absolutely no sense. You stated (see the attachment that I included earlier) that the clear rate was 2xpoints. There was no indication that it was 2 (or 1.6) x 5 x points. Heck, you could have arbitrarily made it 2 (or 1.6) x 5000 x points, or any other value.

Please pass this on to your manager, I am very concerned at what appears to be an attempt to deceive. In the meantime, my funds are sitting in my party poker account, where you are accruing interest on the account balance. Although this is minor, I'm sure it adds up over a wide number of players.

If this is not cleared up, I will not be playing on party poker again. As I am sure you already know, online poker is a competitive market and there are a number of reputable companies that do not resort to deceit to earn their profit.

    Regards,
  28. #28
Those deceitful bastards! My bonus was 2x as well which in addition to my multipliers made me think it was doable. Your post reminded me that not every hand is raked . Plus party's got a weird system for their points now.

Don't take any guff from those swine man good luck getting your monies. Do you really have a degree in mathematics?

    thanks again for the warning.

Finally cleared the stars bonus (woot) also my HEM trial ran out so i thought fuck it and bought the damned thing. I still dont use the HUD stats as much as i should but getting better at understanding the values.

Made just about no progress whatsoever in my game. Playing to many tables and only paying attention to my own cards. I have managed to not play when tilted (mostly) so i guess thats an improvement.

Anywho here's some HEM stats. I hope this works I suck at posting...

Any thoughts or opions on these would be awsome.

    I'm a sucker for a sexy graph.

So my BR took a hit when i bought HEM but still healthy just short of $600. Any thoughts on what bonuses to clear next? Something quick to clear would be good.

Current plan is move to 25nl when BR hits $750 (i'm lovin haven a deep BR)

your vpip/pfr stats look gold, good enough to crush for a while yet - depending on your postflop.. Maybe c-bet a tiny bit less.
Post your steal stats, and position stats

    1) No freaking filter for the games on the lobby. If I join another pot limit or 50nl game i'm gonna kill someone.

    2) Soooo many short stakes. Most of my game is implied odds for sets now i'm fucked.

    3) Hardly any games for 10nl. Maybe i'm playing at a bad traffic time but yeah this sucks.

    4) Tables not popping up when it's my turn to act. Some times they do often they dont.

Maybe i'm just tilted but i'm not really liking full tilt. Gonna be here a while so just gonna have to grin and bear it. Thought about takeing a shot at 25nl playing 19hands on like 20+ tables till this thing clears but I think i'll go crazy and tilt.

hope these comments help - I'd suggest hit the bonus then run though if you don't like the interface! Kinda funny - it's the best interface of the sites I've played to date!!!!

Gotten sorta used to FT software and hating it alot less (table filter still sucks balls but i do like the bet pot button). Any who took a shot a 25nl ran good and got BR to where i wanted it to be for 25nl anyways. Not many shortstacks at 25nl but i sill wish their were more tables to choose from and I dont really like starting em because I dont want to play short handed.

    Things to do...

    1) Reviewing sessions. Can't rember that last time i did this which can't be good.

    2) Post hands

    3) Put people on ranges.

    4) Work on C beting. Start c betting for a reason instead of firing off random shots like i do now. I feel like i'm slowly losing chips instead of gaining them.

hey pig vomit i looked at your stats and while your att. to steal looks ok your button stats as a whole are still really nitty wwhich would suggest that you aren't isolating limpers enough.

Yeah this is something i've been thinking of. I like my VPIP% but i'm not happy with my early position and late position stats. I'm thinking of cutting out alot of the junk I raise with in early position such as KQ+ as well as the crappy pocket pairs i limp with and really opening up my aggression and range in the cutoff and button. Would it be bad if my VPIP% and PFR% were basically identical? Cuz if i do what i'm thinking of doing i'll only really be calling raises with pocket pairs and either raising or folding everything else. Does calling a raise affect PFR% like does PFR% go down if I call a 3 bet? I hope this makes sense.

A quick summary of my expearince so far at 25nl...

Well yes, I would stop raising KQ utg as well as AJ if you raise that. I would say that at 10nl you can still l/c your small PPs from ep and get paid a lot, but at 25nl I would start to open raise because players there can handread slightly better and you're going to get less big multiway pots. I think it would be bad if you pfr and vpip were the same because if you never called pre then you would be 3bet/folding PPs which is pretty bad and also there are a lot of times on the button that you can just call a LP raise with a decent range. 13/10 is actually quite solid and I know a few good 200nl regs with similar stats so don't try and change too much.

Your pfr doesn't go down if you call a 3bet if you were the original raiser it counts as the raise. If you were not the raiser your vpip goes up and your pfr stays the same.

For whatever reason i've regressed back into old habbits. I can't play for more then five minutes before turning into an idiot at the table. I will not be playing for the next couple of days so i can drink and feel sorry for my crappy playing self.

    cheers...

Okay so it's a new month and a figure i might reflect on the month i've had and set some new goals.

When i started this thread my main goal was to get into the habit of putting people on ranges which i still have not done. Another was to start referring to HUD stats before making a decision which also I have yet to do. These remain my major objectives as well as a few others i've thought of recently such as c-betting and improving general post flop game (my post flop game fucking stinks). Also after a recent visit to tilt town enforcing my 2 BI stop loss limit.

    Any who heres September...

can you guess where i tilted?

I'm pretty disappointed with this. I feel i started out well but after moving to full tilt and 25nl my play a discipline turned to shit. It's probably what i need though as my game is nowhere near ready for 50nl and had i continued to run hot i probably would have neglected to improve.

Any way goals are to pump out a sexy winrate for 25nl, develop skills for 50nl and build the bank roll for 50nl.

-8 BIs in the last two days, -5 BIs so far for this month...

meh i'm gonna go drink now.
  43. #43
Weeeeee i'm drunk anf it's time to face facts...

I am a loseing 25nl player. I've played 16579 hands of 25nl for -1.24 bb/100. Because i ran good at 10nl i've been putting the blame on varince but it's time to face facts. I've got some serious leaks to address and i've got no idea where to start. I've been told my preflop stats are fairly solid so my thinking is that my problems are post flop. I've for the most part stopped my c-bet spewage and yet continue to consistenly lose. I've tried tightening my range in early postion and opening up on the button but i feel like i'm just spewing.

My current opinion is that i'm playing badly in larger pots. At 10nl their was value in calling the river shove with top pair and kicker. At 25nl villians range is alot tighter and value/reason why i called at 10nl no longer has merit. I'm finding 25nl to be somewhere inbetween being so loose i can vale bet my nuts off and so tight i can make a steady profit through stealing blinds and exploiting postion.

It is early in the month and it is possible that i've been running bad and i can turn this around and crush.

I'm feeling like half the players at any given table know my hands value. My weaker hands are called or raised and everyone insta folds to my stronger hands.

As someone with assperations of one day playing 100nl and 200nl this is fucking pathetic to not beat 25nl for this many hands. This seems like as good a reason as any to really hunker down and work on my game. Problem is i dont really know how. I need to start postiong hands obviously but other then that i dont really know where to start. I know my game is flawed but i'm too stupid to know where...

Any who hopefully i'll run really hot next week and that way i'll be able to put off improving for even longer weeeeeeee.

two suggestions if you're running HEM:
    1) Filter on pots at 25nl where you called a bet >40bb. Think about what this telling you.
    2) When you get to the river with an ok hand - e.g. 8T on 8TAQ3 rainbow board, consider check-calling instead of bet-folding. Reason? If you bet, then you gotta fold to the re-raise and this costs you the same as check-calling but you don't get a showdown. And another reason - a lot of people who would be folding to a bet will be bluffing when checked to. Passive lines are good sometimes...

Still playing like shit. Throwing money away at HU sngs and 6 max (i suck at 6 max) and generally being an idiot.

    Fuck i hate poker...

So far this month i've played 6500 hands for -6BIs. I seem to be swinging all over the place at 25nl. Obviously i'm doing something or many things wrong. I'm currently trying to conpare my stats from when i was at stars 10nl (and ran goot) to now at full tilt 25nl (where i run/play shit). I'm not having much luck though.

In an effort to make myself accountable for my play and to encourage myself to review sessions (I never review sessions) i'm gonna start posting my big losing pots. Expect badbeats and really stupid tilted play Thoughts and opinions always welcome but this is mostly an exercise for myself.

    Very dumb...

Enough for tonight this is just the tip of the iceberg.
So i'm in a crappy spot right now (to think i was shooting for 50nl by the end of the year). I'm still rolled for 25nl but obviously i'm a losing player. Defs gonna move down for a couple thousand hands get some confidence back but i dont really see the point. I feel i pwn 10nl and so when i play i wont really be working on the skill set i need for 25nl. Thats probs a stupid excuses but whatever. Good new though i'm finding myself thinking more and more about ranges.

This is a hard post to make.

October sucked or more precisely i sucked during October. Heres the graph.

If only it was upside down lol.

So i guess the plan is back to 10nl gonna play uber tight and lay down top pair when i know it's no good and hopefully i'll get my shit together and be back at 25nl. It's kinda funny when i was playing i thought i was playing good but looking back i now see how shitty i really was playing.

I think your analysis is a little flawed. Why do you feel x move was stupid? What caused you to make x move? If you river your outs, do you post the HH?

You'll agree that something is fundementally wrong with your approach to the game, so what are you doing to identify and fix it? And the leaks aren't "I should fold AA vrs check-raises" or "I should fold overs + fd for 10 in a 15 pot"

Ok so I obviously fail at posting.

My intention when I started this operation was to quit poker in six months if I wasn’t happy with my progress which I’m not so yeah I guess I fail that too…

I’ve moved back to stars after getting owned at 25nl on full tilt. My current BR is at $400 again after a high of $900 and a low of $200. I’m gonna win 10 BI at 10nl and take another shot at 25nl. I plan on doing well and feel I’ve refound my groove but I guess we’ll see.

My approach to the game has changed completely and i'm really feeling i'm on the right track after learning the stupid way.

Ok so it’s been a good day.

Played 2600 hands for a little under $50. I’m planning on putting in a bunch of hands tomorrow and maybe crack $500.

I quit my job Friday and I’m starting Uni Monday. I guess I got sick of my life sucking as much as my poker results. Haven’t read a single book since high school (come to think of it I rarely read them there) and I’m pretty nervous. Just gotta work hard I guess like most things. I’m also planning on moving out (bout time lol) so a lot of my spare time next weak I’ll be looking at apartments.

you're right against the wall for your 6 months with a BR greater than 500 or I quit forever threshold in your first post.

    Good luck.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

My initial thought was that I need to stop stacking off with over pairs but after reviewing these hands and villains stats now I’m stumped. Stars 25nl seems looser than 10nl.

    BR $400

    I'm gonna go puke
  57. #57
Man was I tilted last night lol.

Hit the tables today with a clear head and ran goot. Probably should have dropped back to 10nl but I decided to give myself a 1 BI stop loss and just play with the $400 BR. Up to $490 now and I’ve realized I need to stop getting so mentally frustrated at 25nl. You play with more money and your BR swings bigger… Duh?

Had my first day of Uni today which was kinda overwhelming. Missed most of my first class trying to get my bearings and frankly felt a little weird being around so many people my own age. The class work seems pretty straight forward nothing particularly intimidating which I was kinda worried about. Loads of cute girls and definitely can’t complain about the guy to girl ratio. Just need to grow some balls and break the ice…

I want to bang my modern texts lecturer.

This hand is kinda cool to me

    Meh.
  61. #61
We’ll I’m an idiot. For some reason 25nl turns me into a tilted retard. Lost 4 BI to bad beats and then went on to lose more playing drunk/tilted and chasing loses at 6-max 50nl. So stupid and now I’ve gotta regrind. I’m gonna play good today full ring 25nl max 14 tables.

    BR $410
  62. #62
    Back to 10nl…

Played bad and ran bad at 25nl. Back to 10nl to make a few BI and take another shot. Can’t remember how many times I’ve done this now. Gonna play 6-max exclusively for a while to make 10nl more interesting. 6 tables max.
  63. #63
Well you’ve gotta love poker. I was feeling really shitty about myself and my play having moved back to 10nl recently but after looking over HEM I realized I’m -$250 in all in EV. Problem with this is it reinforces by belief that I’m cursed at 25nl lol.

Playing 6 max I’m down a buy in so far.

This will hopefully stop me checking the cashier screen every five minutes become tilted I’m down $5 and trowing away an BI.

Villian is 51/15/45 over 40 hands.

Playing 10nl FR again. I run so good at 10nl it’s sick. Should be rolled for another shot at 25nl by the end of the week.

I just spent $500 on DVDs and I’m supposed to be saving money lol. Also I’ve discovered beef jerky which imo is the shit. Gonna play residentevil 5 now.

I started $200 last year, pulled out $5k recently and still have a bunch online. It can be done.
I really enjoy your honest post, honestly I see a lot of similarities, I am done playing drunk. For me the worst is winning thousands on bodog and then getting drunk and gambling them away in the rigged casino. For me continually learning to disengage my emotions and not play hammered is helping, although I did break my monitor today.

I really think losing is a good thing in the begginning especially if its all obvious azz shit we can fix. Good luck and I look forward to reading more of your posts!~

Graph since moving back to stars.

    Stats

    (I know I know nit)

I’m saving posting my 25nl stats until I’m back in the green. I know this is stupid but I really feel I should be able to beat 25nl without help and don’t want to take away from the epicness of when I do post it. The stats themselves are basically the same as my 10nl stats. I really feel I’ve worked out 25nl and if it wasn’t for an insane run of bad luck would still be there. I will post a graph for the month which will show this.

Haven’t been putting in any hands recently because I haven’t really been in the mood. I’m sure the itch to play will come back. I need to stop playing as a means to kill time poker is work!

It’s an hour and a half drive to where I go to uni. Every day I have to make the trip to and from and I feel it’s really taking a lot out of me. I can’t see how people drive for a living lol. The sooner I find my own place closer by the better.

Well it’s that time again. The BR is at $505 which means it’s time for another shot at 25nl. Not gonna lie I’m getting pretty sick of this shit. I don’t know how I’ll react if I take another beating. Pretty sure I would have made it last time if it wasn’t for an insane run of bad luck but meh.

I will play a standard TAG game.
I will play 8 tables and slowly increase as my roll and confidence at the level increases.
    I will not play tired.
I will not play when I’m not in the mood.
I will use a 2 BI stop loss limit for each session.
I will ALWAYS put my opponents on a range.
    I will own.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I’ve been running good. Up a little over 4 BI in my first decent session of 25nl. I honestly think that tables on average are looser at 25nl. I don’t want to adjust my game too much as I know I’ll probably level myself but I’m thinking toning down some of the aggression such as blind stealing and raising limpers may be warranted. I just feel like I’m being floated a lot which I know I’m not it’s just players not recognizing that I’m tight and that they should fold when I bet lol. This being said if in my next session I’m sitting at a table and its nit town I’ll exploit it.

    Here’s some hands.

Villain is 11/11/30 with a steal of 30 over 35 hands. Should I be waiting for more history against opponent before I try this play? Thoughts on second barrel?

Played a session tonight and lost a BI. Pretty happy with this as I actually thought I’d hit my stop loss but it looks like I was picking up a lot of small pots. Loses were due to opponents drawing out so whatever as long as my expected EV keeps going up. Getting drawn out on (and more importantly my reaction to it) is a pretty big part of why I failed 25nl last time so it’s very important that I strictly enforce my stop loss. Can’t wait till I post my march graph I’m pretty proud of it in a masochistic kind of way.

I’ve got a lot of life shit I’ve been neglecting recently particularly uni stuff but I also need to sort out an apartment and other assorted crap. I’m feeling really lethargic lately. If I’m not going to put in the work then I’m wasting my time. I don’t want my academic life to mirror my poker life. I’m going to try and not play too much this week so I can get on top of all my shit before it becomes overwhelming.

It’s been an interesting month. Ran like shit but whatever. Back at 25nl and I’m going to kick major ass in April.
