Is there anything in particular others should look into, to avoid said dodgy situation themselves?

wow, it's been a while. Haven't played a hand of poker the last two weeks. I'm about ready to move out of poker and on to something else. 5 years since i last had a job! wow. So i started looking for contract work a little while back. Two weeks of contract data work has been heaps fun and it's pretty cool that the hourly is fixed, guaranteed. Not an ounce of variance in sight. I expect another couple of weeks on this project, and then i'll decide what next. I suspect i'll end up doing the occasional data contract and in between just cruising rather than playing poker - see what happens. Not sure whether i should be looking for a permanent job, pros and cons....

running is going well. I'm faster and fitter than ever before. There's a local 10km hill loop that i occasionally time trial. Two big hills. My goal is to do it in sub-40mins. I'm inching slowly closer, but it's still going to be a tough ask. I've moved from 50minutes down to sub 44 over the last few months. The finish is a bit wrong = the last hill is a tiny bit bigger than i've mapped, but it's about right.

I ran a long run a few weeks ago too. about 75% of trail and unsealed road, 25% tarmac. Was good to see that i could comfortably run the distance without stopping. It got a bit heavy towards the end, but i was fine to run again next day. Haven't hit 300km in a month yet, but i'm always doing 200+ and i'm still on the improve. Racing a five km on a hill course next weekend, it's going to be interesting.... and a half marathon in a few weeks.
    here's the long run.

gut is a good start. Things don't feel right. Then do some database research looking for the sort of things you would imagine colluders would do if they were soft-playing etc
