Perfect spot for a c-bet. He either has a J or he doesnt. Finish the hand off. You win the pot, or he calls/raises and you're done. If you bet say 600 and you're beat then you're down to 2.8k chips which hurts but you're not out, and if you get him to fold then you basically swap stack sizes with him. By checking the flop, you lose the ability to represent a strong hand. He could have anything at this point. A2? He could even have a 5 he didnt want to bet on the flop but now feels he's ahead with.


[edit] Just realised I use the term "perfect spot for a c-bet" a lot in here. I do think there are times its not a great idea. If two broadway cards come on the flop and both miss me, I dont like a c-bet. Also if I've been c-betting a lot, I start to think I'm becoming too predictable so let one slide every now and then. Probably pick something like a completely non-broadway board and let it slip though. Buying some image points I guess.
