He probably saw a HH of a super-aggro high stakes game where something like this happens:
6 handed, UTG pots it, 2 calls behind, SB calls, super aggro (gabe style) BB squeezes with a re-pot, UTG pushes with AK.
And thought it was a good play in your spot  .
