Memoirs of a Laggy Donk
I've been a long time reader of this forum and finally decided it was time to take initiative with my game and fix my faults and build upon what I've already learned.
A little bit about myself:
I'm a 23 year old Business Major at Wake Forest University in the great state of North By God Carolina. I discovered online poker in 2007 and made my first $50 deposit. Within an hour I had donated that $50 to a 100NL table. Obviously, I felt bad knowing I would never see that money again, but I was intrigued. Over the next year or so I made a string of unsuccesful deposits. In retrospect these vicious acts of donkage can be credited to horrendous bankroll management and outright degeneracy...but at the time it was because "Everybody keeps sucking out on me, NOBODY runs worse that me". So what did I do? I went to where everyone goes to get answers to all of life's important question. Google! That's when I found FTR and started reading strategy articles and threads, I watched videos and realized there was a method to this madness.
I felt like my game grew 700% over that next year of playing, but again playing in games way over my head and funds kept me from building a decent sized bankroll.
I played:I learned
I read:I learned
I went bust:I learned
I 3bet a 54/10 with 68o: I learned
I tripple barrell bluffed a dry A high board: I learned
You get the gist
So this is my attempt to finally do everything right. I recently cashed out my entire roll to fund a keg party and to buy new tailgate equipment for the '09 football season and redeposited $200 on Ful Tilt on Sept. 1. So this thread is going to be part "DUDE WHY THE F%&$ ARE YOU PLAYING 50NLHU ON A $250 ROLL?" and the rest just fun/interesting hands, things I'm picking up, and in general to keep myself on track. I feel like my edge is big enough to play on 20 buyins per level, AS LONG as I stay in those perameters I think I will do just fine.
Here's where I'm at so far for September. I realize my preflop stats are rather "Durrrish" but I feel like I can play SO MUCH BETTER than anyone else postflop in these games. Even though my perceived postflop skill is probably far greater than my actual postflop skill. And as you will see I've already detoured from my bankroll management and this needs to quit. I just get incredibly frustrated at losses and feel the need to chase. My inner degenerate coming out obviously.

# of hands at each level respectively:
-998
-654
-44
-4740
-999
-22

Glad to be here, hopefully I'll learn a lot more and "self actualize" if you will as a poker player.
