    benny's idea is great

Sauce can play 5/10 but starting now he only counts 60% of his profits/losses towards his operation total.

Does this mean I can play .5-1 and count 600% of my profits?

edit : but srsly i think the idea is good gogogo sauce at nl1k!

I was torn within as to wether I should post this or not, it's not like I want to create a huge e-dramabomb or anything over what is not really a big deal. I luv all you guys and will of course agree to what ever is decided.

With that out of the way; if we were gonna allow 1kNL+ midway through, why did we cap the allowed stakes in the first place? I remember us discussing this in the original balla thread, and when it was decided that 5/10+ should not be allowed I was saddened as this would mean that I would not be able to participate. Still the reasons for capping it at 600NL were good, and frankly I don't see how those reasons have changed since then. To go ahead and un-cap after all half-way through the challenge sounds pretty strange to me, and I don't understand why I'm the only one who sees/thinks this.

Unfortunately being the one closest to sauce in the standings, coupled with the fact that I'm not gonna play higher than 2/4 for the duration of the challenge regardless, makes me come across as a bit of an asshole by pointing this out. To remedy this, here's a picture of a polar bear cub hugging his mother:

Edit: lol, couldn't sauce in theory just count his 5/10 live winnings FTW then?

yeah obv it doesn't follow any kind of liner rational set of rules

I figured having sauce count 60% of his profits at nl1k from this moment on would only help other ppl's chances (assuming the 1k games are tougher...).

I understand your reservations Halv. Since we all agreed to the terms at the start of this, it's best that we stick to them unless the 60% of winnings at nl1k seems like a good deal.

  4. #229
i agree it's weird to change the rules in the middle...
but it's a small change, and others might take some 5/10 shots.
plus no one suggested this before the race was started.

    what does everyone else think?
  5. #230
I'm pretty much done i think, ive been on a downswing this whole challenge, so all i have is 1k to show for it. truthfully i dont mind anything you guys do as long as its fair for you guys.
    Check out the new blog!!!
  6. #231
This change would pretty much only advantage 1 person. So if Sauce wasn't gonna go on with the challenge if it's capped at 600nl, this change is unfair...

If he was gonna go on anyways and grind at 600nl until the end of the challenge, then it's ok for me....

ya honestly even if i take a 5/10 shot or two, i don't care a ton about whether we make this change or not right now.
  8. #233
also quick update for me - had my biggest $ day ever yesterday +10-11k now on the challenge.
  9. #234
yea i mean im gonna start putting in a lot more hands as of tomorrow when i get internet in my new apt.

ill play 3/6 for a few more weeks whatever its fine.

i honestly just suggested a freezeout cause it would be fun/dramatic and we considered in the beginning ending the challenge at 15k (if u remember genitruc) so really i just thought it would be sick fun more than me being super impatient to get to 5/10.

This is why I don't want 5/10 to count:

    $1,000 USD NL
Total number of players : 6
    Seat 1: SB ( $1,149 USD )
    Seat 2: BB ( $1,304 USD )
    Seat 6: Villain ( $4,407 USD )
    Seat 3: Hero ( $3,500 USD )
    Seat 5: MP ( $985 USD )
SB posts small blind [$5 USD].
BB posts big blind [$10 USD].
    ** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ Ah Qh ]
    Hero raises [$35 USD]
    MP folds
    Villain calls [$35 USD]
    SB calls [$30 USD]
    BB folds
    ** Dealing Flop ** [ 2h, 9h, Jd ]
    SB checks
    Hero bets [$84 USD]
    Villain calls [$84 USD]
    SB folds
    ** Dealing Turn ** [ Th ]
    Hero bets [$210 USD]
    Villain calls [$210 USD]
    ** Dealing River ** [ 8h ]
    Hero checks
    Villain bets [$444 USD]
    Hero raises [$2,032 USD]
    Villain is all-In [$3,634 USD]
    Hero is all-In [$1,139 USD]
Hero shows [ Ah, Qh ]a flush, Ace high.
Villain shows [ 6h, 7h ]a straight flush, Ten high.

    Shoot me now.

I've been aggro vs him and have been caught bluffing, shoving thin and generally playing back light in multiple occasions vs him today. Villain is very aggro, I used to consider him a total lagtard but he's been showing down strong hands in all the big pots today. I wonder if I should have bet-called/b3b/c/c river instead of c/ring, since all high hearts except the K are ahead at this point. Am I just being results oriented?

Oh well, back to 400NL when tilt is gone.

Edit: actually I just now noticed that I hold the Qh myself. I guess I can't worry about the 8h. Should have c/r smaller though, to induce a re-"bluff" or get a loose call sometimes.

How do you find the 1k games at Party in general? Is it a huge step up from 400 and 600?

So I was down about 2.2k today in 900 hands at 400nl and 600nl.

Then I told myself fuck it, I'll play some 1000nl since it's been a while since i tried it. So I open up a few tables and the drama begins, set over setted, flush over flush, AK < AA with ace on flop. JESUS!!! My 5 biggest pots (~2k each) were huge coolers.I was down 4k at one point.

But I continued to grind and ended up 1.5k on the day. Lesson of da day : Chasing losses is goot!

So are we counting 1k nl yet???:P

I need to play lower, at 400nl I snap call this, but this time I used my whole timebank to make the call. River being a blank should have made this much easier.

Posted here for balla-only advice :

    New at table, no reads.

I initially thought this was a super-easy fold but the more I look at it the more I wonder…

    alexos- awesome. nice job.

genitruc- unless villain's a donk, i think it's around 0ev...i'll put numbers in ur SH thread.

also, now i've taken $15,600 total out of UB since May 9. just rather not keep $ online.
this adds up from -$6,400 earlier, +$750 deposit for a bonus, and then -$10,000 withdrawl today - here's a screen shot:

i'm still about +11k overall. been sick so not playing much lately.

here's a hand from my recent experiments with squeezing more. is this a big spew or what?

utg seems like a good lag. i've been tight, quiet.
button plays a little weird/loose, but 22/10 statwise. i'd seen him 3bet 99+ pre flop a few times, so discounted that...
but figured he might call on a flush draw, or maybe a worse pair.

UTG raises to $21, Button calls, Hero raises to $90, 2 folds, Button calls.

    Flop: 2 7 5 ($207, 2 players)
Hero bets $147, Button raises to $349.5, Hero raises all-in $567, Button calls.

Halv, your aggression on the flop is 7.74 wtf! Do you cbet every flop and 2nd barrel almost every whiffed turn? Amazing stats.
  50. #275
See, I told you that you'd win! Halv rules. Congrats!

Thanks everyone. Did anyone take that side bet with you, courtie?

Bio, the problem with AF is that it depends on how much you call (I think it's calculated as (bets+raises/calls). I do cbet and 2nd barrel lots, with my tight preflop stats I get floated lots on certain boards so I need to rep that overpair on the turn. But in general my high AF comes from the fact that I rarely flat call.

I don't keep AF in my HUD for this excact reason, you can't tell the difference between someone who plays raise/fold and someone who calls alot but bets/raises insane amounts. I wish PT would show Aggression Frequency, I'd be interested in knowing my own.

Edit: my "First action on flop after preflop raise --> Bet" stat is 66.76% over that sample, this means I cbet 2/3 times, right?

Wait, so do you have the frequencies in your HUD and not the stats named "flop aggression, etc..."

Wheee played some 10/20 today on a very fishy site...I have not seen players this horrible, like ever..it was just insane

Dropped around 4 buyins a day for the last 3 days or so, I play bad, run bad, tilt..it's pretty horrible.

I tilt cashed out tens of thousands from the sites and decided to stick to one site and grind back from 200nl. I was playing on like 5 sites, all kind of limits, so things were getting disorganized. I'll stick to crypto for their bonuses and rb and horrible play, and move up AGGRESSIVELY using the 20BI rule. This will help me focus on my new goal and hopefully things will turn around.

Here we go, I'm starting with 6,469$

yo...was away for a week, but i'm up for doing something again.

my guess was sauce's idea is to sit at a cash table with 100bb, and play until someone doubles up.
i think that's cool, but i'm not sure that's what he was thinking...will try sending a PM.

or ya, charity is good too.
  70. #295
ya i thought he meant we sit with at 100$ table with full buyin, and play it until 1 guy has all the monies....no one can rebuy

Like a cash sit and go

or we can just do a 100$ flippament

WHATEVER WE DO LETS DOOO ITTT
