    Default Operation $10,000

Jumping on the bandwagon... I have a 4,000 bankroll right now, and my primary goal is to have $10,000 by my birthday on December the 30th (withdrawing approx. half my profits along the way)... This is what i made up and I look at every day before I play.

    Operation $10,000!!!!

My goal is to turn my $4000.00 Bankroll on September 19th, 2005, into a $10,000.00 Bankroll by December 30th, 2005 (MY BIRTHDAY).

There are several things I will need to accomplish on my journey to turn $4000.00 into $10,000.00.
    1) I will be withdrawing approx. ½ of my profits between now and December 30th, 2005. These profits will be used to pay for bills, gas, etc. and all the amounts will be specified later in this paper.
    2) I will need to be able to control my emotions, as I have never dealt with this much money before, and I cannot let the ‘money’ factor get into my head and affect my play.
    3) In order to accomplish this goal I will have to set up mini-goals, which will be discussed next.
    4) I will be playing the $105+9 1-Table TURBO Tournaments on PokerStars. Multi Table Tournaments will be played as I wish. I may move up to the $210+15 1-Table TURBO Tournaments when my bankroll reaches $7500.00+.

As stated earlier, I will have to set and attain several smaller goals in order to get this big goal. These will now be discussed.

    When my bankroll hits:
    $5000.00 - I will withdraw $500.00 so my Bankroll is $4500.00
    $6000.00 - I will withdraw $500.00 so my Bankroll is $5500.00
    $7500.00 - I will withdraw $1000.00 so my Bankroll is $6500.00
    $9000.00 - I will withdraw $1000.00 so my Bankroll is $8000.00
    $10,000.00 - I will PARTY!

My APPROXIMATE timeline for reaching these goals will be as follows: (Note: THESE ARE NOT EXACT BY ANY MEANS, VARIANCE HAPPENS AND I WILL DEAL WITH IT AS BEST I CAN)

    Sept. 27th (approx) - Bankroll hits $5000.00 - I withdraw $500.00, leaving me with $4500.00.
    Oct. 10th (approx) - Bankroll hits $6000.00 - I withdraw $500.00, leaving me with $5500.00.
    Oct. 31st (approx) - Bankroll hits $7500.00 - I withdraw $1000.00, leaving me with $6500.00.
    Nov. 30th (approx) - Bankroll hits $9000.00 - I withdraw $1000.00, leaving me with $8000.00.
    Dec. 30th (approx) - Bankroll hits $10,000.00 - I rejoice! I have $10,000 on my 19th Birthday!!

When I accomplish my goal, I will KNOW that I am a good enough poker player to play for a living (at least to save for college). Wish me luck, and may the cards fall my way!

    Signed Sincerely:

    Christopher D. Conley

Sounds easy, wish me luck, ideally I want to complete this early and revise my goal to 15,000 or 20,000, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Nice job, man. You can do it. You're putting me to shame!

I'm curious: How many do you play in an average day? What kind of an ROI are you seeing?

    Congrats and good luck!

I've been blessed... Out of the 1200 or so sngs ive played in my short poker career, im running overall at about a 40% ROI. I play around 10 sngs a session, 2 sessions a day, so 20 sngs a day, and seeing pretty good profits, although definately not 40% roi... i'd say 25%... but thats with a few horrible days lol which surprises me... I'm down 1000 in MTT's over the last month or so, so thats just 1000 more i'd be up if i stuck to my bread n butter, oh well.

Update: Sept 23rd, After Night Session.

Currently up over $1000 over my last 2 days since completing my 1st goal early. Bankroll at $5,502.50, withdrawing $500 when I hit $6,000. Goal is Oct. 10th, looking like I'm completing this one very early too!

Dang! I thought I passed you when I won that SnG we were playing tonight. I think I may make my $7k a little early too... My ROI in the 109s right now is something like 200%. I probably can't maintain that though, huh?

WOW What a horrible friggen day today. I got sucked out way 2 many times to mention, but I backed off, made it deep (not ITM) in a couple MTT's to build my confidence, and I DESTROYED my night session. I was down $430 before my night session, and after it I am +$208.75. Variance hit me in a big way, but I still got a positive day for the 9th day in a row.

Current BankRoll: $5711.25 (C'mon Jeffrey Catch Me!)

Update: September 26th, Day Session, Half-way through...

UGHHHHHH! I'm WAY 2 aggressive! After having success trying a 1 time thing (moving up to ONE $500 sng with michael1123, got 2nd), I've just been playing the $105 turbos with my (nearly) 6k bankroll... and man have I been sucking! Sure, some bad beats, but mainly me being 2 aggressive, I have to learn when to slow down, over-aggresion has cost me approx. 5 buyins, my bankroll is suffering a little over the last 2 sessions, but I was still up $40 yesterday, although im down a couple hundred today. I'll get my mojo back though I have no doubt! :P

    Current Bankroll: $5004.25
Next Goal: $6000.00 by October 10th... Still on track!

Operation $10,000 CANCELLED due to me suffering from TMMS (Too Much Money Syndrome)

Wasnt valuing my money enough, so I withdrew $3000 and its no longer part of my bankroll. My bankroll now is $1200, I have no new goal as of yet...

Awwwwww man. I was about to jump in the race with you and Jeffrey. I'm at about 6.05K right now. I was playing mostly SNGs but I'm having too much fun with bonuses right now to stop playing ring. My goal is simple - 10K by year-end(or more if I get more time to play). Somehow I've gotten to the point where the money aspect doesn't faze me - it's more of a scorecard then anything else.

Hang in there, I'm sure you'll get your mojo back soon.

I was a tad disappointed to read this too, Chris. I hope you can work through whatever's going on. Are you still making a run at Full Tilt?

Thats a shame you've quit your goal.

My goal is 10k over the next 21 days. Definately feasible since I have historically made between 1,000 and 1,900 a day.

I usually make 5k, take all of it out. Hold out for a week, get a chance to unwind, so I don't get cocky or arrogant.

    Repeat.
