Maybe give HEM another shot?
Create a folder called "HEM Imported hands" or something, then in HEM, go to configure auto import and check the "move files after import" box when you add the hand history import folders. This way you don't lose hand histories.
Don't mess around with the databases. All you need to do is set up the auto-import, get a HUD running, then edit it at while playing super=micro stakes to get it set-up how you like. Build some simple reports by drag and drop, if you want to set up a position report for full ring just google it (there's a post on 2+2 on how to do this). Etc. I switched to HEM from PT and find HEM to be gold, although it took a few days to get used to...
