Hi all,

I am starting one of these operation threads (as is everyone else!) to keep me focused on my goals and what I want to achieve.

I have a blog here where I am going to detail my progress and thoughts. I have entered 2 posts in the blog that give a detailed history of my poker "career" thus far and what I want to achieve.

If you can't be bothered to read the two posts on the blog then a quick synopsis is below:

I started playing poker about 18 months ago and went through the beginners sircle of death. Found FTR and begain playing properly. Did well and built my $500 roll to $1500 but found poker was consuming my personal life and so I stopped playing. Bought a house and had a baby with my partner in the "off-season" but began playing again in November 2006 as I was off work for 6 weeks with a knee injury.

Built the roll up from $500 to $1500 and then withdrew $1000 to help cover some christmas bills. In January I built the roll to $1000 and began playing $50NL. My internet has been down since 6th Feb so I have played no poker since then but the internet connection should be back up tomorrow and my journey will begin.

My goal is to reach $200NL and earn enough money regularly to be able to withdraw $700 a month so that my partner can reduce her hours to 4 days a week and spend time with our children. I work full-time (36 hours a week), own my own home with my partner and we are a family of 5 and so time is constrained. I am hoping to fit in 10 hours a week that should enable me to play roughly 13,000 hands a month.

I am not to concerned with winrates until I get to at least $100NL and so my immediate goals are:

1) Play 10 hours a week 4 tabling 50NL 6Max
2) Grind some bonuses and get rakeback at different sites.
3) Reach $100NL
4) Post at least one hand per session in the Short Handed NL forum to get feedback
5) Don't cashout except $100 for a new computer desk (When I have my first $100 day) and $600 for a new 20" monitor (probably when I reach $3,000). I have decided to make these cashouts as the desk will make things more comfortable and the screen will enable me to get more hands in by 6 tabling.

I have some loose time goals to reach $100NL but if I don't achieve that I won't be too disappointed. I would like to reach $100NL by the end of April.

Anyway, if you want more details please read the Blog. I will make a post in this thread once I have updated my Blog so you can all read it.

Any pointers/questions/comments you can either post here or in my Blog.

Cheers
