Update seven. I have played 106 games since my last update but have had a losing week. I am currently working on clearing a $1000 freeload bonus.

Therefore my operation stats since starting in July 2007 are:

Games: 1,416
Ave Stake: $35
ROI: 10%
Playing Profit: $3,155
Bankroll Including Bonuses: $5,290

My goal is to have a $50,000 bankroll by July 2008 so I am 10.6% complete.

I started the week playing the $20+2 and the $30+3 levels as I have had such a great run lately I was “due” for some bad times, I was right. I played some of these lower buying tourneys and had some of the most incredible beats but was actually smiling at them since I had dropped down levels in anticipation. I know variance should happen randomly without any pattern to it but no matter what I do I cannot keep winning after having a very strong winning run. I also had internet issues again with my wireless internet provider costing me at least $150. I have now bit the bullet and signed up for ADSL through my phone line, stuff the wireless crap it’s just too unreliable for playing online poker.

I moved back up to playing some $100+8’s in the last few days thinking that my bad run was over. I was wrong, I don’t know why but I am having the worst runs whenever I step up to the $100+8’s. I could understand if I was being outplayed but it is more a case of just one improbable beat after another against players who have massive losses according to Sharkscope. I played against one guy last night who has lost $31,000 only playing 6 max tourneys, how can a sane person do that!!!, I mean you would think that after the first $10,000 you might choose another hobby or at least drop down levels. I know it’s good to have these types of players to play against but it does dent your confidence when you loose to them. Anyway I’ve decided to keep trying the $100+8’s for a while as surely the run of beats has to end sooner or later and I want to be playing at that level when it does turn.
