Thanks for the interest guys.
Bigred's point about BR management are, of course, valid. On the other hand we can be a little too anal about these things. BR management stops you going busto quite so easily; but we don't have to stop taking shots.
I took a shot at $200NL, I lost a buy-in + a little more and so I quit. That's what the shot was for, to try out another level.
It wouldn't even have been an issue if it wasn't at the start of the sucky 7+ buy-in downswing.
I've been sorely tempted to take a break/move down/frikkin' quit but basically every time I look at all these suck outs and improbable rivers I just feel that I have too keep on playing.
I'm around the brink at the moment. Prudence dictates that if I lose another couple of buy-ins then I'll have to move down because I'm not playing $100NL on 13 buy ins or something. But at present I'm on 18 buy-ins (+ really with RB coming in a week or so) so it's not time to jump ship yeah.
I'm not going to turn this thread into a bad-beat whingeathon; biondino has borne the brunt of that stuff privately.
But here's my mini-operation: Survive January.
I'm currently sitting at -$1038 for the month (not entirely true, I won a little at both FRNL and LHE which isn't included, but still).
If I finish off the Poker Plex bonus (around 2500 hands in the next 9 days) then I stand to have made $800 ish from Bonuses and rakeback.
That will put me on -$200, which given the $200NL shot is not too shabby.
So Target #1: Breakeven from today until Feb 1st
Target #2: Run at 4bb/100 until the end of the month, pocket another $200 and break even for the month.
I played 600 hands today and made $1. Which sounds sucky except I was down $160 at one point.
On an incidental note, while waiting for a crypto cashout I played with $30 I have trapped in a Prima site.
I played some $10NL 6-max for fun, turned it into $60 and I am now a career winner at $10NL 6-max (was previously down $10 or something).
If I can win a bit at $20NL someday I'll have fixed all my micro-stakes stats
