Thoughts on what I might need to do to improve

Been giving this a bit of thought, before my break, during it and the last couple of days. Initially I didnt do a heap to improve. I learnt SNGs, I learnt p/f poker and ICM. Sort of study, but really I'd just run hands through SNGPT using preset ranges and eventually learn my p/f ranges by rote. I was still pretty bad when I first moved to cash, but felt I really got things right and improved greatly. I talked about what I did earlier in this thread, but I also linked to it separately:

Compared to a lot of people its probably a good way foward, and it really did help a lot. Mainly it focused on "thinking poker", which is something people really need to do. What some of you might notice is missing from there, and what I think I need to start doing, is actual study. Its hard for me, because I've never really studied anything. I got through school/uni with good grades just by being smart enough. Thats kinda cool, but the downside is that I've never learned to study. I get sidetracked really easily. Heck, there was a 3 hr gap between me deciding to make this post and actually starting to make it. Study isnt fun for me. I want to get good at poker and make some nice $s from it, but at the back of my mind its still entertainment. Its still an alternative to computer games or TV. Study is more like work.

I think I need to do it though. I'm bad with ranges. Yes, I admit it. When I look at a hand my though process might be similar to "Well, he could have TPGK, since I have AK its unlikely he splits TPTK with me. Maybe a set will have to be aware of that. Draws are possible, but unlikely to have an OESD so only have to worry about FD if it comes in, and if he chases a gutshot well gg him if he gets it". Theres some thought there, but I'm not thinking "Well his PF calling range is 22-JJ, A9-AJ, KQ because I expect him to 3-bet AQ+, QQ+, so theres 6 combos of sets, X combo's of worse AX and unlikely to have a FD except KQs since the A of ? is on the board, so I'm ahead of n% and he'll call a reasonable sized bet with m% of those". Sometimes that means I miss some really basic stuff. If I think of "sets are always possible" instead of the actual number of PP combos he's likely to have based off PF action then I can sometimes overestimate the likelyhood. I may also over or under estimate the chance he's drawing because I havnt actually given him a range, just "some chance".

I've done no research at all into my PF ranges and 3-bet ranges and how they stack up. No thought into what hands are best to 3-bet bluff with and which to flat call (or fold). Stuff like that.

So I think I need to start doing this study. I'll chat to people about it, and please feel free to give thoughts/advice on how to approach it in here, but I guess a start would be that after every session as well as looking over my hands and "reviewing" them, I actually pick one hand per session and do a full study/analysis of it.
