Looks like I drew a pretty weak table for the Battle of the Planets. Most of the table is really tight-passive and there is only one players that looks quite decent. I'm second at the moment with 2100 chips, about 150 behind the table leader. I'm going to maintain good aggression and hope for the best.
The Sunday Storm isn't really going terribly well. I'm well behind average and haven't had any cards to re-steal and no one has called my raises with my good hands. I have around 4200 chips and the blinds will probably go up to 200/400 + 40 after the break .... I'm pretty desperate!
Edit: Meh, ended up getting crippled in the Sunday Storm when I called a shove with KK and lost to AJ and then busted out running AJ into AA.
Got a bit of raw deal card-wise in the Battle of the Planets. In the 28 hands after the break (and before the Q9o hand below), I got dealt no pocket pairs, one broadway (see QTo below), and zero suited connectors ... some cold streak. The best hands of the bunch were A2s in an EP and QT in the SB with two raisers. I finally shoved Q9o from the SB for 9.5BB and immediately after that JTo from the button for 11BB. It was a borderline shove, but ok given the structure of the tournament. I was called by A5o that spiked a 5 on the flop, I hit a J on the turn and he made trips on the river. Crippled with 5BB, I shoved 66 and ran into AQs and JJ! At least another $200 eases my pain a little.
