Default Operation Get My Shit Together!!!!

I have decided to start my first operation thread on FTR. I am not sure how many people will follow because frankly my poker game really is not that exciting. I don't get to log in as many hands as a lot of you get to and my brain is worked to the maximum trying to 4 table. Plus doing so on a 15" laptop screen is rough on my eyes.

A little background, I have played break even poker for 2 years. Losing poker for 1 year before that. This last summer I hit the grind and advanced from 25nl to 50nl. Since then 50NL has been full of upswings and downswings. I have been close to being rolled for 100NL twice and when right on the cusp of advancing I have managed to go on massive tilt and blow huge portions of my roll. My roll is now down to $950. I realize I have leaks in my game and spew chips in all directions at all times. I am going to try to get everything back in order and work on being aggressive in correct situations. It seems my WTSD% is pretty small hovering around 21%. I am going to try to increase this but do not really know how. Don't fold as much I guess but it seems like when I don't fold I am mostly beat. I will be starting a new PT database to cover this operation. My old database has me at a .04bb/100 winner at 50nl. At least I am in the green right?

I will be playing on UB and FT for a short period of time. I do not have RB at FT so I am thinking about getting out and maybe switching over to Stars because I hear the games are softer ( can someone verify this?) I have RB at UB and will be depositing that into the roll as well.

I will be posting a lot of hands here to get feedback and also embarrass myself away from making dumb plays. Feel free to tell me how stupid something I did was and why. Allright thanks for tuning in and good luck me.

An OP thread is the best way to be honest with yourself, updating and posting hands improved my game a lot.

    Default 1st report

So I just finished my first session of the operation. I had a little trouble with poker tracker trying to set up a new database so these stats just got combined with my old one. Not a good start to the operation, in 619 hands I lost 117 dollars.

Is there any way I can get away from this? I wound up getting v-towned pretty well. Villain is 50/13/0.88 over a small sample. After limping and raising the flop it screams that he has trips. Can I possibly lay this one down?

Hand 3: Villain is 36/18/1.7 and bad. He will take hands too far. The table just broke and I am happy to be HU deep with this guy. I have been raising a lot on the button and to counter act he has started min-raising every button raise I make. He routinely leads flop weak with a weak hand and has folded to the raise or to a turn bet a lot. What do you guys think of this?

Default Some real interesting hands today

Well I finally got PT figured out and I am importing my stats. Todays session was up and down again. I dropped a ton of buyins due to running into quads twice and other disastorous suckouts before i doubled up 4 times in a span of 50 hands at the same table. I would up playing really deep with a couple other people, and it made me realize just how lost I am deep. Some comments on the deep hands would be great.

Deep hand 1: Villain is bad, I have stacked him 3 times. He calls 3bets lite 100bb dee with AJo etc and stacked off with TPJK. He called a c/r AI in a pot I 3bet with a pocket pair when the flop had 2 higher cards. He also stacked with mid pair vs my set on a Q hi board. He was on tilt during this time and has seemed to get back together. He limps all small pairs. He is pretty passive. We have not gotten into it deep yet. Comments on all streets welcome especially the flop.

    Turn: ($62.75) A (2 players)
    CO bets $42.5, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: $62.75

Deep hand 2: Villain in this hand is also passive. Running 24/10/0.85 and he has been avoiding me mostly. I have been raising his blinds constantly throughout the session and he has rarely 3bet. Every time he has I have folded. Do I bet this flop? I checked it for pot control at the time, getting raised here really sucks but I rarely think villain is raising.

Todays grind started off very well with me taking 4 buy ins off of one of my buddies from back home. There is a lot of history here and he is just generally a bad player.

After that I hit up the ring games and 4 tabled, losing 2 buy ins where I quit. I think these hands are good example of plays I typically have trouble with and if anyone reads this, please reply. I will probably be posting in the short-handed forum anyway.

Overall I played 391 hands for a profit of 67 dollars.

    Heres the fun ones first.

ill comment on the tough ones from the last post.

hand 1: i dont mind shoving over his minraise here vs bad players but 60 vpip's love 10's for some reason. I think a tight fold here isnt bad but shoving is probly worse than just calling. idk, a J does this some but i think calling and seeing what he does on the river might be better here. Shoving pretty much only a T is calling, but i guess a really bad fish could call with a bare J.

hand 2: against someone like that im betting TP on the flop for 3 streets of value. Just lead out the river for 1/2-2/3 pot and call a push if he shoves.

hand 3: street by street AF's over such a small sample are pretty meaningless, but not completely worthless i guess. i might consider folding to the minraise. I dont see what hes raising with on the turn and shoving river that you beat. Easier said than done though in the heat of battle. Ive been making a conscious effort to start thinking hands like this through longer while playing and folding to more of the minraises rather than always calling them just because they are minraises.

hand 4: bet the flop. fold the river, thats just spew.

Had a pretty good session today, with no spew except in a 10 dollar tournament I entered. With my stack dwindling down I picked up pocket 9s in the SB. CO raises it up and I have him barely covered. Here I could 3 bet but I decide I want to see a flop and plan on pushing over his cbet in most cases. Flop comes 8hi monotone clubs and I have on of the 9 of clubs. I probably should lead here but I check to him and it gets checked behind. Turn is a Queen and I lead for just under 1/2 pot and he puts me all in. He either has a slow played flush here or a queen....either way I am screwed but my dumbass calls anyway. He tables KQ and I brick the river and am severly crippled.

Besides that the cash games went pretty well. I played 368 hands and made $101.

This hand was pretty interesting. What do you guys think?

you've posted so many hands i'm just gonna comment on the last few

hand 1: good just bet more like 22 on the river since it's pretty certain he has a T and i doubt he's folding it to 22. Also raise the flop more.

hand 2: fold the flop. Put raise flop % on your PAHUD it's very helpful in these situations.

hand 3: bet more like 9-10 on the flop so you don't have to think of double barreling

So I entered a 180 man 8 dollar SNG and took 3rd for 183 dollars. Busted out when I called a button raise with KT0. The flop came out 5d2d6c and the raiser bet out. He had been cbetting indiscriminately when it got down to short handed. I thought about it and decided to raise, with my stack size a raise would effectively commit me so I just shoved. He called with A5 and I couldn't hit a luckbox. The winnings will be a nice little boost to the roll. I have been on a super sick heater the last week including live play where I have also made a ton of money. Feels good to run good, I almost forget what it feels like to take a bad beat. In the early stages of the tournament I was also playing some 6 handed NLHE. I played 236 hands while making $141. Not too bad for a night.

This ones fun. Anyone like betting the turn? I felt like with the over call I wanted to go into pot control mode, but as soon as he checks the river to me I am sure I am good and can value bet.

LOL so I finish off my last blog report by saying I forget what it feels like to run bad. Well during my heater I have been exclusively playing at full tilt because UB was having difficulties with PAHUD. I got everything working again so I decided to try out the super soft games at UB. I forgot how tought multitabling was there with overlap and was forced to drop down to 3 tabling. In my first 100 hands I ran into 4 sets with overpairs or trips. I got stacked on 3 and managed to hit a better boat with one of them. I guess it was UB's way of saying fuck you quit cheating with full tilt. Why can't I run like a god, like I have been on full tilt?

Convertor is stuck on retarded for UB.

What do you guys think of this? Villain is loose bad. http://www.pokerhand.org/?2093401

Villain in this one is 22/12/1.6 passive. Check-call flop seems pretty good here in my mind? Is that just retarded?

This hand had me all tied up. I had no idea what to put opponenets on. I had huge hands on all of my tables and really wished I had more time to think about this one. What do you guys think?

Decent session today. Some fish took a little over a buy in from me when he hits his gutter vs my top 2 and I coudn't get away. Over all 574 hands and up a whopping $1.40. Pretty much no intersting hands from this session so we will just leave it at that.

Allright the blog is back! After a long time without my computer it is fully fixed. I played occasionally at the library during this time and managed to drop 2 buy ins after the library gods spited me for not studying. Today was the first day back and I finally figured out how to resize UB tables so the hud displays properly. The session went well today, I played 510 hands and made 195 dollars. I plan on buying a new rig for poker soon, I have had enough of this 13" monitor. Playing on the campus computers with their 21" monitors was so much nicer.

HH convertor doesn't work for UB but a couple of intersting hands happened. I flopped a straight when villain flopped a set and it got shipped my way. I also had a pot where I had AA vs a set and villain slowplayed until I hit my set on the river then he jammed on me. SHIP IT!

1254 hands today and a 117 dollar profit. It would have been a lot more if I didn't lose 2 buy ins playing heads up. I also played in the midnite madness on FT and finished in 64th for 35 dollars.

    Heres a fun hand.

Played relatively bad today. When going through poker tracker I missed one blatantly obvious river shove, I timed out in a 400bb pot right as I was about to click the call button and villain claims to have a worse hand. The bad thing about it was that I was committed and should have snap called his shove over my turn lead instead of thinking and messing with other tables. I also timed out with a boat on the turn with a 15ish bb pot. So overall I think I played poorly but the results dont match how I played.

Over all I played 489 hands for 157 dollars profit. Could have been a lot more unfortunately.
