Default Operation learn how to play poker

    Hi all,

I've been playing online for the last 6 months- the odd S'N'G but mostly 10NL/ 5NL FR and 6Max, and have realized I'm not great and have no discipline. So, starting from 2NL (and a bankroll of $90), I am going to build a bankroll; making sure I never withdraw anything (which I did all the time), and sticking to a strict 25BI rule for each level (I normally played with 10-15 when I started a level.)

I will post after each session, as well as post two interesting and/ or tough hands.

    Stake: 2NL
    Bankroll: $92

    Hand 1:

Villain ran 28/6/1 over 32 hands.

    Hero (UTG) ($2.01)
    Button ($1.97)
    SB ($3.11)
    BB ($0.68)

Hero bets $0.10, Button calls $0.10, 2 folds

    Flop: ($0.23) , , (2 players)
Hero bets $0.10, Button calls $0.10

    Turn: ($0.43) (2 players)
Hero bets $0.20, Button raises to $1.03, Hero raises to $1.81 (All-In), Button calls $0.74 (All-In)

    River: ($3.97) (2 players, 2 all-in)

    Total pot: $3.97 | Rake: $0.26

    Hand 2:

Same Villain (who ran 28/6/1 over 32 hands.)

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (4 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB ($1.47)
    Hero (UTG) ($2)
    Button ($2.55)

    SB bets $1.60 (All-In), 1 fold, Hero calls $1.60

    hand 1: ship it
hand 2: depends on my read on the BB, I might fold flop if he's super passive and only raises the nuts
but given we called and he folded turn just stove it

    Board: Qh 4h 3c 4s

    Hand 0: 58.333% { QQ+, AQs, A4s, KQs, Q8s+, 54s, 43s, AQo, A4o, KQo, Q8o+, 54o, 43o }
    Hand 1: 41.667% { KdQd }

    we need $1.6/$4.34 = 36.9% to call
maybe you disagree with my range but you only have 32 hands on the guy so it's kind of hard to predict

Thanks for the input- the range looks about right I think- the BB wasn't super aggro or passive, inbetween, so the min raise worried me a bit but not much. (Especially at 2NL where min raises happen alot.)

Played a 4 hour session today, got 1200 hands in at 11.5ptBB/100

Had a bad run earlier, but had a heater session just now. Ran 25ptBB/100 over 350 hands this recent session.

    Current bankroll: $117

    Hand 1:

Villain ran 47/37/2 over 19 hands. I reckoned even with the villain's mostly unknown status, I had implied odds to call.

    1. I'd bet more on the flop .45 or .5 to protect my hand .As played I think you have to fold to the raise. if he has a made flush youre beaten, you could be behind on flush draws, or he could have hit a set . If you call the raise what are you hoping for? a heart could still leave you behind, A brick leaves you check folding to a large bet which means the flop call was a waste.

    2. TT - Bet more on the flop to charge the flush draws. I wouldnt be surprised if he boated up and was hoping for a check raise on the river so I think checking behind was the best option then and see what showdown value you had.

    3. I'd probably pot the flop about .70 and if he shoves he probably hit two pair /set on the flop.Your turn bet looks really weak.
when he check calls the turn and shoves the river I think its a fold. Whats you image like ...have you been really aggressive on the table. Is he letting you bet his monster for him? I'm suspecting 9x which could quyite possibly be J9
