    Default Operation: Project 09 - Stage 1

So i have been incredibly slack this year in both hands put in and my willingness to listen to people who know better than me.

Now that i have stopped both of the above i think its time i set myself a decent operation for the rest of the year.

For background - everyone knows the old BBJ stories, however last June i moved up to 1/2nl FR on stars - promptly won 8k and moved up to 2/4nl - took a 4k downswing in 8k hands (-8PT or something, when i should have been +2PT) and promptly took a break as losing 4k kinda hit me hard.

I tried to grind at the beginning of the year, but through work distractions etc i havent really looked at my game or done anything good (other than breakeven)

And yes - im not a pro and i have a job.

At this point its worth putting up my pre-July YTD giraffe

As you can quite clearly see i had some tilt and discipline issues that came from starting back at lower limits and not caring too much about money.

then in July i decided to fix my game - fix my lack of discipline, take a few days off work and grind my ass out.
    Results graph below

So in terms of my operation.

My bankroll is deep enough to play 5/10nl - but realistically i dont believe i can yet beat those stakes.
So stage 1 is to complete 100k hands at both 50nl and 100nl at a required PT/100 so that i am satisfied i have fixed my leaks

    Stage 1

    Complete a 100k sample at 50nl with a 4PT/100 winrate

Status - Currently 45k hands needed at this winrate to complete task.

    Stage 2

Complete 100k sample at 100nl with 2PT/100 winrate

Status - Currently 62k hands needed at this winrate to complete

    Stage 3

    1. Return to 1/2nl FR and beat games for 1.5PT/100 for 250k hands.
    2.Build Bankroll to 30k
    3. Get coaching to beat 2/4nl FR

So, i currently have a 1.5k bonus clearing (9k VPPs needed) and i have about 16k FPPs on my account courtesy of Stars generosity in giving me supernova for free.

I will update my thread after each session

My minum hands per month is now 50k, but i expect to grind about 80k which if i keep to my schedule should allow me to meet the 30k bankroll goal by the end of december.

End of July and August plan is to grind the 40k hands of 50nl required

wow ....nice graph. Did you get a AHA moment half way through that graph or was it just a case of concentrated discipline?
good luck with the rest of the OP.

Todays session was just insane - i felt as if i got my stack in the middle loads.

    Hands 2301
    +$247.05

BTN is a TAGG and SB is a fish. I wanted to call preflop but i dont like playing OOP so i 3bet.
So long as i dont get raised on the flop is bet>shove turn. Fish isnt folding an ace once he comes along and the TAGG will tell me if im beat

Thinking to results i shudda shoved because hes an idiot - but i always seem to find idiots can fold QQ/AK/JJ preflop (they arent thinking about ranges BVB obv) but if i let him see a flop and he catches a piece then he isnt letting go. Expected QQ/AK here

good luck with the rest of the OP.
not really - i was just playing like dogshit.
I actually sat down and wrote out a starting hand list and stuck to it for the 1st 10k hands, then i started to get the hang of playing in position more again and it suddenly came rushing back.
i would argue a graph like this shouldbe most months for me - but as im not a pro my focus can go sometimes when i get distracted by home life or work commitments.

The good news is that the distractment of 14 appraisals for my team is no longer there so i can really put my plan to work hopefully.

Played a quick session before bed tonight.

1 super spewy hand and one that was actually post worthy which i played badly on the flop but pretty good on turn and river

Opp is intotheace - some spewy TAGG fish - hes been monkey 3 betting me and has shoved over each of my 4bets BVB so im sorta lost as to his range.
Im probably +10 bis vs him anyway so i guess i have to donate abck occasionally - what im doing on the turn ill never know

    River: ($100) 9 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Total pot: $100

Had set over set twice (yeah i had teh lower one) then this hand came up
Opp is a little fishy -too many hands especially OOP.
I think betting the flop is a mistake - better hands raise us off, but a lot of hand such as JT semibluff c/r and fire turn and that line sucks for us. WEre behind anything he might defend with T9s/QJ etc so really i should check flop and just c/f a yuk turn or call it down.
Obviously i didnt do that, but i think the turn play is pretty good vs his range and the hand range im representing.

Hi Dude, dunno why you would waste time at 50nl tbh.

btw what made you go to FR from 6max?

I need to - my discipline has been horrendous

Volume - ive had issues over being committed enough over the last few months so moving to FR makes getting in the volume easier.

Once i have that and move to mistakes FR i can start to transfer across to 6max if i want.
I just think FR is so much softer than 6max games at this time i dont see the benefit of being a 6max player.

1st day of august - meh lame.

    5k hands so far
    -218
dont feel i played that bad i was just in spots where i was second best to poorly played hands

I played a bunch of hands bad and out thought myself a lot then just plain didnt make the correct decision.

posted the KQ hand = meh

this hand annoyed me - has nothing on the river like 99.9% of the time, so to show a king i thought was sooo bad. Im checking behind sooo many hands, it was only because i believed he would call with JJ/TT that i bet so his line sucks balls vs 90% people
hand underneath against the same guy -nh sir, but then i only call bcoz i think you're bad.
he limped behind too - id like to play him more. Funny that after stacking me he appeared at lots of my tables on my left - yum

    Midweek Update

    100nl - 1218 hands (on FTP ldo) -$261.15
    50nl - 13730 hands (stars) +$731.80

Played ok early in week but thought meh, B game at best so had a shower after setting up the new treadmill my g/f bought (my rower arrives next week - i am so fat) and logged on for a sesh

+250 and didnt lose a pot bigger than 30bbs ( i basically nit folded everything)
I do a lot of b/fing as in stacks excellent post this week in the FR forum but tonight i just got it in in good spots - couple of hero calls as well.

    Graph below.

    Random thoughts
My biggest problem seems to be stepping up from 18 tables - i can play 18 easily and never time out or anything but once i add the next three (i have dual 24 inch monitors) i seem to lose the winrate.
Better put the next bit in bold im not using a HUD but i have bet pot and stars planner - so if anyone has anything else that lowers the workrate post here please! I hate stacking also so dont suggest that
From what i can see by adding up to 24 my hourly goes to about another $6 or so but i dont want $6 more per hr when i want to crush first (1.5PT/2.5PT at 50nl seems kinda ghey 24 tabling??) but i guess the 2p2 geeks think 2PT + 24 tabling at 100nl is wesome so maybe i should work this. Certainly im going to struggle on my current 15hrs per week schedule getting to 80k hands only only 18 tables but i have time off in august and september to keep the hands up so a couple of 18 hr sessions might help. i think my plan for october/november are more ambitious as i might be moving jobs then leaving more travel+ more wages = less poker time
Seems kinda gay that if i hit my goal ill be at £25k ($43k) online by Jan 1st and still only playing 1/2 Full ring.
    meh

Also a beat - this guy

is someone i played 3 card brag with at high school for pennies when i was a kid - he now has over £250k savings and from his SNs i know he won a sick triple crown the other week (im still in touch via an intermediary) so im not the best player in my town

Anyway - promised graph - pretty standard
