Operation: Reach Supernova by end 2011

Hi everyone,

I've been playing poker for the past 5 years (initialy SNG/MTT and then FR cash games up to 200NL). And finally I discovered this site!

I withdrawn most of it in October last year. So now I'm left with 3k at Stars and I want to give a shot at Supernova this year. That's an average of 318 VPPs per day (I have around 2500 already) from today.

With family (father of 3) and day job, I don't have time to play a lot (even though I read about a guy who is a father of 3 who reach SuperNova Elite in 2009 with 6 hours/day 24 multi-tabling 100NL FR). So to reach that I need to learn how to stack. I never was able to do that. I mostly 7-8 table with overlap. For those of you who have the same problem, maybe you'll learn some from my move (or failure ) from Tile to Stack. My biggest problem with stack is the note taking.

I'll post mostly the VPPs status and experiences from Tile to Stack.

Just played a 1.5h session 8 tabling and only earned 163 VIPs.
Total is 2663 VIPs to date.
I think I'll soon need to increase tables or stack.

Nope, I'm more from the european side, but I guess I might been influenced by some aussie friends

VPPs currently 2863. Which means that I'm behind pace.
I tried yesterday evening stacking 9 tables. It was not bad but I made a couple of not very good decisions but not use it was due to the stacking.
I'm not too worried yet about the pace. I need to see how the stacking is going because this will be the key to reach SN.

Update:
3184 VPPs.
Yesterday had a 2 hours session 9-10 tabling stacking them. Became a bit more confortable. My goal would be to reach at least 16 tabling to reach SN this year. But maybe it's not a very wise BRM to do it at 100NL with a $3.3k BR?

3.3k is fine if u can fluidly move up or down with no issue.

Hey best of luck Downunder, going to enjoy reading your progress. Re: Stacking, do you know you can get scripts (search autoit in the forum) to help with stacking? A very useful one, is one that pulls a table out of the main stack into the side of your screen, when you press a hotkey. This might help with taking notes etc... as a hand that you want to keep an eye on street by street you can pull out. Once you're done you can hit the hotkey and it returns to the main stack.

Thanks LuckySlevin! Actually, I start using the AHK scripts available on one post in FTR to move tables out of stack and move them back. Very handy!

I'm just struggling with finding one to activate automatically activate time bank. Otherwise, I cannot add fast tables ...
Does anyone know of any one?

I'm sure there are several AHK's that'll auto-activate the time bank but the only one that I know of is TableNinja.

Started playing more or less comfortably 9-10 stacked tables at 100NL.
Moved down to 50NL (as BR came pretty close to 3k), but this is a good opportunity to learn to stack 16 or even 24 tables, let's see
And yesterday had a nice 15-16 tabling 50NL, it was a bit hectic and times but generally OK.

Of course I would not be able to do it without the following amazing AHK scripts:
- PokerStars AHK Scripts (stacking and unstacking tables using one key and the mouse)
- New AHK: TimeOut Helper (Instant Sit Back In) and Auto Timebank for PokerStars - Gambling and Poker Software Forum

As for my Supernova goal end of 2011, I see that's it's going to be very tough (and not possible unless I can 16-tabling (or even 24-tabling) 100NL) as I don't play more the 8 hours/week but I won't give up that easy! If I cannot make I'll suck it up for not have choosen to play at FullTilt

it's been a while since I updated this
The main reason is that I learned 2 weeks ago that the country I live in (Belgium) will only allow very soon to play only in poker sites with a license. Conclusion Pokerstars will be one of the only 2. Having said this tournament players will be able to play against all world. However, the cash games players can only play with belgiums! Meaning we'll have only 2 tables of 10nl (or very near)!
As a conclusion I cannot go for supernova anymore
So I moved my roll to FTP for the moment (and I need to update the title of the operation soon).

As for multitabling, I've been multitabling 16 tables 50NL (almost) confortably at FTP. And will try to move to 100NL. We'll see how ir goes!

As I'm no longer playing at PS I'll close this operation and i'll open a new one.
