Your bet sizing seems fine on all. On hand 2 raise pre. Why are you letting the BB take a free look. Raise almost any two OTB when folded too, Stealing is +EV at any stake.

Hand 1: check river as played
    Hand 2: raise pre
    Hand 3: good

Raise flop more. If he calls a bigger raise I'll check behind on the turn but with your raise size I think betting is better. i don't see any value betting the river, seems you got lucky this time.

Hand 2 raise pre as others have said. Bet more on river.

    3 -fine.

    hmmm, how to explain...

board texture narrows opponents possible holdings, and we are not strong against that range.

party on flop, hence somebody must have at least the fd [OMG ITS TEH SOOTED] or anything else of value. I really don't see only top pair staying behind to pay your overpair off here

I disagree. I think you're giving random fish way too much credit... And I mean this for 50NL, let alone 5NL.

#2 raise to 1.1 and bomb turn. Don´t care about SB, if it´s three to the turn MP´s overpair will definetly slow down.

Is it ok to c/r here as opposed to betting out??? Im not slowplaying for the sake of slowplaying, just trying to get at least one bet from one of the other 2 people in the hand. I think if i donk bet into the them it may kill my action. Im pretty tight/aggro and 99% of the time a check from me means im giving up so i think it will induce a bluff. Reads are for very few hands and not worth mentioning.
Also whats the proper size raise??

Lead for .35-.40. If everyone folds the only thing you were getting is a c-bet. Maybe the villain decides to get tricky and raise you with air since you took away his c-bet play.

By check raising your pushing him off anything marginal. If I was the villain I'm folding KJ and KQ here.

This board is one that needs to be C/R.
The board texture and opponent determine what boards need to be slowplayed and what others need to be donklead and others need to be slowplayed.

The board is very very draw heavy and the villain raised out of the blinds which signifies a very strong hand.

Here's one where I can safely call the flop. I don't give the raiser a lot of credit for a hand because I would raise the button there just to pick up the dead money in the pot with a variety of hands. His flop raise doesn't exactly scream strength to me either and I don't want to blow him off his hand. After his check behind on the turn I am positive I have the best hand.

I need to give him cards to improve his hand and if nothing else calling the flop and checking the turn might get me a call out of 77, 99 on the river. Yes I am giving him free cards but I am trying to maximize my expectation with my hand.

Donk lead. I don't think this flop hits the original raisers range at all and the CC behind him bothers me. Readless I'd say he could do this with suited connectors and I need to protect my hand here.

Yuck. This is obviously hit him and I can't be sure if he has the straight or not however I know its very likely that he has at least a pair and either a straight or flush draw maybe even both. If I didn't bet here its very likely the flop would have went check check check and my hand would be extremely vulnerable to a lot of turn cards.

When ya hit the set, pretend you missed and cbet the fkr.

The c/r just reeks of monster hand

Edit: not to take away from Bbickes' explanation which was good - just in general bet sets like they're cbets (on dry boards).

I've gone through those set slumps, too, and it sucks. You make hands and can't get action. Then you make a cbet and get rr'd 45x in a row. Just keep betting 'em. It's hard to get all 100bb's in by the river if you don't bet the flop, and pray villain picks up something he wants to float a coupla streets.

LOL how long has Stars had micro 8 game rotation???

If i knew this i may have deposited before this.

I Started with $5.54 and im up to $12.26 atm.
  44. #44
    Meh i went bustoooooooooo.

But i was having so much fun that i borrowed $20 so im back in the game..lol.
  45. #45
I played a couple double or nothing sit and gos, and a MTT (where i got killed on the river after being ahead all hand) and was down a couple bucks. then i played some of the 8 game and finished today up $11 at $31.42.
  46. #46
Paid Shaz $10 of his $20 he loaned me, puting me at $21.

Then played some 2NL and finished up about $14 so i payed Shaz his other $10 making us even and puting me at $25.87.

Gonna workout, go to work and then grind some kore tonight.
  47. #47
I fucked around playing games that i suck at and too high for my roll and almost went busto again..lol.

I was at about $4 so i borrowed another $20 off Shaz 2 or 3 days ago and payed him back the next day by grinding 2NL again.

Im going to take it more seriously and grind up a roll by playing only NLHE. I may play a little stud here and there but it will be within my roll and not very often unless i get hot.

So im all payed up and back up to $28.20 after a few sessions at 2NL.

Then, the higher you get, take a slightly higher bankroll requirement than the stakes previous so that you better protect your poker bankroll.

wesrman I finally found time to look your OP up. Dude you've had some ups and downs, which I guess is just part of the game. I must say you have been very supportive to talk with in IRC and I hope to watch you finish this operation out successfully and move on to even bigger ones.
Hope the holidays are good to ya and good luck on the felt in 2009!

    Now grind your ass off!

We're pretty much level pegging on our way to 5nl. Perhaps if we're still going at a similar rate when we get there or 10nl we could have a friendly race

Good grinding. I saw u had a bit of profit on all six tables. Good stuff. I'm jealous of your roll growth. $20 since Wednesday. I'm gonna try 2 tables when I get my roll up to $74 and set a 10 buy in stop loss ($2 buy in, not $3). Like i said, I haven't had success in the past multi-tabling, so baby steps.

FWIW i reload to my full buy in almost constantly so me having a profit at all my tables doesnt mean i was up at all of them.

You will have a hard time winning at this rate by playing only one table and ive beat this level before so keep it all in perspective and dont try to compare.

terrible day 4 me today. Started a $4.40 180 man sit n go and my power went out so i lost that. AND IT FRIED MY TV FFS. Then i played 3 $2.20 180 man sit n gos and didnt cash any. So $10 down cuz of that BS..lol. Finished the day @ $57.

Then i had this all written out with hands posted and everyuthing when my Internet Explorer crashed. Im not really in the modd to be finding all the hands i had poste dso im only posting a couple for now.

I need serious help because ive forgotten pretty much everything i learned (not that i knew much before) about bet sizing, and odds and what not. So im gonna post hands and get feedback until i start to catch on. Any help is appreciated.

    Low content.
