Operation WSOP Main Event

I was listening to a couple of poker podcasts while driving back from vaca and came up with an idea to get to next years WSOP main event. The neighborhood I live in is fairly huge (over 2,00 homes) so subsequently there are quite a few poker players in the hood and numerous regular games/leagues.

I figure I can get 20 to 30 people to sign up for a "Get to the WSOP" league that would work as follows: Each person pays enough up front to get the total prize money up to $12K (to include expenses for the trip). This would be $600 for 20 people and $400 if I get 30.

We would then play a series of Gauntlet style tournaments with the winner taking the money and the 2-6th place finishers getting a piece of the action (like 1/10th or something like that).

There will be some decent players in this, but a majority of them are just plain not that good. I am going to send out the e-mail today to a select group to get it going and will let everyone know how it goes.

SHIT!!!! Sorry, that is what I call my twice a year tourney as the neighborhood I live in is called Hamilton Mill - hence the Mill Series of Poker.
