haha man it sounds like you had a sick weekend. I wish parties in Canada got that crazy...we're such tight-asses up here, especially where I live.

Good luck picking up that dealer and be sure to keep this operation going its friggin awesome.

Robin Williams described Canada as a loft apartment above a really kickass party.

Dranger, I have the same attitude as you about other games, similar anyway. I wont play without some kind of edge. I'm comfortable with $2k+ in front of me on a poker table but I wont even put down $500 on a blackjack table and I count cards. I've spent more time in casinos than some of the people that work there and I've never put a dime on a roulette or craps table.
    Check out my self-deprecation here!

If Canada is the loft then Mexico is the basement where the really baller shit goes on lol. Cancun FTW.

Anyways yea Micro this operation aint gonna die (well in the summer it will, but thats due to boot camp lol) I've put way too much time and effort into building my roll to just piss it away or cash out. I really want to get better.

And dev, I wonder if most poker players are like this or if its just a select few of us? It just doesn't feel right to "gamble" anymore, which is funny because thats how the majority of people feel towards poker (that its gambling that is). I love the fact that I am getting to the point where I have a hobby that can consistently make me money, whereas most people have a hobby that they dump thousands of dollars into. (fishing for example.)

And that party I went to was quite probably the craziest one I've been to in a while, hopefully there will be a few more coming up.

I think most online players will be nitty about -EV games, but most live players, pros even, will gamble a bit. There is only one non-math oriented player I know that doesn't gamble on other games (because he deals them for a living). A lot of dealers are hopeless gamblers, so he's the exception.

Ted Forest and Phil Ivey are craps players. Gavin Griffin is a hopeless gambler. One of the floors at foxwoods told me he was playing a golf arcade game he'd never played before for $20/hole in the break room. He played $1/$2nl drunk off his ass. He went AI pretty much every hand and gave money back to the players when he sucked out. Why oh why wasn't I at that table?

You can take a shot at say $200 and go back to 5NL until you move there permanently at $250 or something

Well HOLY SHITBALLS!!! I think this is the first time I've let my Op get put to the 2nd page lul. Just got back to the dorms here at Ferris and is ready to do some grindage, but I might hold off til later on this afternoon. I have decided to switch over to FR after hearing some suggestions that FR is MUCH softer than 6max at the higher stakes, and since that is where I want to be someday, I might as well switch over while its easy imo.

Now to my Spring Break. It went well, kind of boring but fun (lol?). After that big party Thursday I didn't do a whole lot of drinking, but managed to slip in a few beers here and there. Played some pokers at the casino, got raped in a $300+ pot that was straddled PF, but I walked away feeling happy with how I played. I played ZERO MEANINGFUL cash game hands, although I did maniac it up at 2nl with a buddy of mine. Raising EVERY HAND to 47 cents for an orbit = the uber nuts btw. Played a few 45+ man sngs. Cashed in 2 of 4 45 mans finishing 2nd and 5th, but in one of the other ones I bubbled, but I played it with sil and Muzz and we had a $1 (lul) last longer prob bet so I ended up profiting anyways. Played a 90 man with Micro and finished 7th I believe. Was card dead literally the whole tournament, so extremely happy with deep finish.

Thats pretty much it for now. Will definitely put some hands in today, and will update laters.

BR stands at $183. (I bought in for the Noob HU Tournament that I set up ($5) and lost 3 $1 BI's while donking at 2nl. Which is where the losses come from.)

    GOGOGOGOGOGO. gl with fr dude.

Just finished my first ever session of 5nl FR. I am EXTREMELY pleased with how I played, the results just didn't show. -3 BI's for the day. I lost 2 300bb pots one of which was standard cooler. Flopped a FH with 44 on a AA4 board. Got two guys who had me covered to ship it in with me, turn and river 6. They had AQ and AK to chop up mah monies. Other one is standard.

I ran pretty loose for FR at 20/13/3.0 over ~300 hands but I was actually catching good cards PF, just not connecting/getting played back at more and wasn't comfortable. For example had QQ 4 time this session, a K or A flopped 3 times. I was also stealing blinds with a vengeance on tables where I had nits to my left (standard obv.)

Anyways, I won't let this faze me and I will keep the chip up and come back later tonight to pwn epically vs these nubs. Here are 3 hands that I thought I would ask some questions on. (Will also be posted in BC).

    Hand 1:

I don't have a read (its during my first orbit at table) but the guy is a short stack and obv I hate the Q on the flop, but should I c/f here? That seems too weak, but betting any amount will probly make him ship if he caught any of the board... Suggestions?

    http://weaktight.com/891238

    Hand 2:

Same as other hand, no reads this is within 1st orbit at a different table. After he raises PF, bets flop and turn, then checks behind river, I am thinking he has a weaker Ace a lot of the time, but I think he bets out AJ if he hit it. I also think he would bet AK again on river, so I ruled that out. Any problems with betting small to get value here? Do you think a weaker Ax calls a ship from me?

    http://weaktight.com/891239

    Hand 3:

On flop I really like my chances vs these two. They were both really LAGGy pre and post flop, although I was kind of thrown off by their limps PF. I have the nut flush draw with overs and a (lol) backdoor straight draw, so I like my equity vs. them, even if they have a made straight or set. I make a standard semi-bluff get minraised and called. Is this a good spot to ship it? I really hate flatting and any other raise size seems really dumb.

Just a quick note on PF, I probably make it 4xbb+1bb for every limper. So on a couple of these hands I would be raising more PF.

    Hand 1
Tricky spot, he could be shipping any part of the board Qx/Axc/ so it makes it fairly tricky. tbh I dont know what the nest line is here really. I might even c/f or b/c, if I had better realds. Tricky vs an unknown with a short stack. I think ur b/f line was probably ok here.

    Hand 2
Pf more, raise flop, coz I think he has a weaker A a lto of the time that won't fold. As played I like the turn call and river bet.

    Hand 3
More pre again. You can call coz we are getting good pot odds and fold a blank turn. I also don't mind a flop ship coz we have great equity when called, Aces and Queens may evben be good.
  15. #240
    1. i think b/f flop is fine.
    2. sorry i couldnt give you advice as this was happening dude. i think you played this fine, i like the bet on the river once he checks.
    3. call is ok btu i like a shove too. so either or imo.

Played some moar FR today. I ran 12/10 over 1.5k hands at 17bb/100 which is pretty goot imo. (Major improvement from yesterday obv) I have nearly pulled myself outta yesterdays ugly session, so that feels good. I am really happy with my 12/10 stats, and going from 6 max stats to FR stats in one day = good things imo lol.

I added 2 more tables today and stacked them so I haz 6 tables open when I'm playing now, which is much better for me then 4, so I don't get bored so easily. I might try 8 tabling tomorrow, but we'll see. I don't have class until 6pm so I am hoping to put in a few thousand hands, and hopefully pwn the shit out of 5nl donks.
  17. #242
welcome to the world of FR nits. please to be enjoying your stay.

    gl dude.
  18. #243
8 tabled with success over 1800 hands so far today. Not done yet for the day for grinding, but BR is currently at an all time high of $196, so basically I'm not gonna check it until Friday I think, cuz if I do I'll keep peeking during a session to see if I broke $200. That isnt good, so placing a restriction on myself. Also, I'm going to get in 10k hands of 5nl FR before I take the shot at 10nl. I want to make sure I'm not just completely luckboxing (which I probably am ). Stats for today are 12/11 lol, so keepin it solid.

Will report later after tonights sesh.
  19. #244
Whoa! The big two oh oh! Sweet man. I think you're doing better than Kid Poker. Keep it up. I had hoped I would catch up to you while you were off chasing drunk college girls, but oh well.
  20. #245
Good job dude, looks like you're showing some success at full ring so far, keep it up.

I didn't play today, mostly because I came home hammered...haha.
Oh yah I made it further than I expected in that tourney last night! LOL Donkaments.

    I be chekcing in laterr
  21. #246
Nice work sir, keep this up and it'll be 10NL in no time. GOGOGOGOGOGO.
  22. #247
Played a MONSTER session (hand-wise) last night. Like 5+ hours of poker, 8-12 tabling for most of it. I started out 8 tabling, then a buddy started sweating me and asked how many I thought I could load up and still be able to play pokers smartly. Apparently 12 is the limit. I ended up playing 2,700 hands+ hands last night and profits of $14 so 10bb/100.

And oh yea, BROKE $200!!!!!!!111 BR is currently $210 and I have played 6300/10,000 hands before I take my shot at 10nl. So probly early next week I'll be taking the shot. There is a very SMALL chance that I'll be grinding this weekend, because my friends gf's friends are coming back up, and I guess they BOTH think I'm hot. So 2 VERY cute chicks that think I'm hot + 3 days with them pretty much alone = a very good chance for an awesome weekend and very little chance for pokers lol.

O and fwiw I am nowhere near ready to play 12 tables consistently. It was more an experiment/dicking around to see if I could do it. I could, but I lost track of the tables a lot so yea. I'm gonna stick with 6-8, I seem to be able to play goot (for me ) pokers there.

Time to get ready for work Grind later.

I have a dumb multitabling question...
I only play one at a time and want to move to two or three so I don't know how it works for doing 6-8 at a time.
You obviously dont have all 8 tables up at once on screen so do you just leave them minimized until its your turn to bet and the table pops up??
If so....how can you follow the action and see how the others play?
  24. #249
Honestly, when I 6+ table I stack all the tables on top of one another. About half the size of the screen, and when its my turn to act the table pops up on one the table. The way I keep track of certain hands is if I see something interesting going on on one of the tables I drag it off to the side and keep an eye on it. I play so nitty that I'm mostly folding anyways, so it works. Also, USUALLY whenever I'm in a hand I will drag the table off to the side to keep an eye on the action. The times I don't is just when I have a slop hand in the BB and it limps around. Obviously if I hit the flop reasonably well I'll be playing it and will drag it off to the side.

    Hope that answers your question.
  25. #250
Fuck poker what happened with the womanz?

    Also add tables slowly.

I highly recommend table ninja or some hot key script thingys.

    Sn name on stars?
  26. #251
The women folk don't get here til Friday, then they are staying all weekend til Sunday afternoon. Just gotta find someone to cover for me at work and I'm in lol.

Yea, I'm not planning on 12 tabling for quite some time lol. That was more of an experiment than anything. Went pretty well, but I'd rather 6-8 table and call it good for now.

Can't get either of those because I'm an idiot and play on a mac No AHK scripts for dems *cries*

dranger7070 same as everything else lol. I should probly stop telling people that cuz now all the regs are gonna come bum hunt me

  31. #256
Ok, just finished a 400 hand session at 10nl 4 tabling. (I decided to take a shot with a friend sweating me.) Started out AWESOME as this hand will show you. Doesn't get much better than this imo.

I know it. I seem to be stubborn about this. Ah well, its cool, I'm still really pleased with how I played (obv other than just these two hands). I wasn't being a spew monkey like I tend to do sometimes lol, so thats good. I wasn't betting out with hands that have purely showdown value (which I tend to do A LOT). I just played an all around better game that normal (for me) last night.
  38. #263
LOL man that hand is just soooo sick. Like, what would have been the hugest bankroll boost turns into a puke fest. But like I said, this shit always happens when you move up to the next level. Just keep playing good, you know you own these tools in the long run.

Oh and another thing: it also happens whenever you hit what would be considered a milestone for your bankroll. I.E, $100, $500, $1000, $5000, $10000 etc.
  39. #264
Dranger made the move upto 10nl good job. How many hands did you end up doing at 5nl? I figure it'll take me atleast another month or so before I'll be ready. Can you give me an idea of how you see the differences? I'd like to hear it from somebody who has just made the move cuz I know once you've went through the learning curve you'll say the same as everyone else "Same fish same shit etc."
Good luck and keep on grinding!

Ok so weekend/wimminz update. Epic successaments. Long story short, we went out Saturday night, whenever some dude would hit on either of the friends they would both grab my hand say that they were with me (shipit ). We get to drinking, sit down on a couch between both of them, start making out with one of em, she stops me, says she has a bf and that shes on the rag (SOOO GAY), but then says if she wasn't on her perios she would have (sweet!). Meanwhile, other friend patiently waiting turns me around to notice her and pretty much shoves her tongue down my throat (not complaining, she had a great rack ). So yea, start kissin and making out with Kelly, and one thing leads to another and we sneak off to a guest room in this frat house. Clothes are gone, movement, goot times. Work sucked on Friday and Sunday. So yep, pretty much taking a night off this weekend was badass, def need to do it more often, and cant wait for the next time those chicas come up .

On to pokerz. Last night had a disgusting session 8 tabling 10nl. Started out pretty bad, losing close a BI when JJ < QQ on a low board and him limp/calling PF. After that EVERYTHING turned around. I was flopping the nuts left and right, my AA/KK was getting paid, ppl were shoving with air into my virtual nuts. Goot times were had. Finished the session up almost 4 BI's in a little over 1k hands.

Now I'm depressed cuz I haz to work from 3-1030 so no pokerz for like 10 hours lol. Pretty much want to epically pwnzer donkfish all day, but NOOO. Jobs suck ass. (ldo) Can't wait for the day (if it ever comes) when I can support myself by solely poker income.

And Harley, I switched over to FR about midway through 5nl (7k hands at 6max, 7.5k hands at FR) so I only played 14.5k hands there, but my roll was a $200 and I was eager to give it a shot. So far I seem to be holding my own. At 10nl as opposed to 2nl and 5nl, its not about stacking off all the time (although its always nice when you do), it seems the main source of stack growing is by slowly accumulating through smaller pots with c-bets, double barrles, v-betting, etc. If you are going to stack off, you need to have the goods the majority of the time (ie 2 pair+, set+). Still a lot of fish swimming around, if thats wut ur worried about. Theres just less per table. Like I usually have at least 2 or 3 other nits, and like 2-4 fish and the rest be in betweeners like 20/10, 22/14 etc. They SEEM to know some things about poker, but they still arent very good.

My big thing since moving up is blind stealing relentlessly. It increased from 30% at 5nl 6max to 40% at 5nl FR to 48% at 10nl FR. These guys just don't defend, and if they do it once, dont worry they havent caught on, they actually just had a hand. Omg one thing that i lol'ed at when I realized it is that you play straight forward at 2nl and 5nl, but it almost seems that you can play EVEN MORE straightforward at 10nl. Some of the ppl know that some hands are "good" and some are "bad" and will turn their cards face up for u. For example, nit raises, you fold cuz he has the nuts lol. Nit limps, then calls from EP, he has 22-99 more then likely. Their lines are so straightforward its laughable. They will never get your money (like a stack that is) unless you are coolered if you paying attention because they are just that bad.

    EZ game imo.

I get the feeling im gonna get a few (more than a few actually) tl;dr on this post lol.
  41. #266
dranger sounds like the ladies were fun for ya and that's always good!

Glad to hear 10nl is going well so far. Keep up the good work. I have a ways to go but am looking forward to it.

So yea, just finished another disgusting session of 10nl. 900 hands for $45 and 50bb/100. I had to change my underwear during this one, I literally shit myself laughing at what I was getting paid off with. I got quad 8's and quad J's for $8 pots each, tripled up with a set of 5's vs 2 villains deepstacked, and just all around got feesh to donk into my nut hands. I ran ridiculously well, but I talked to micro on msn afterwards and hes like, "even if the cards are falling into ur lap, you have to playing semi decent poker to make that kinda moniez" and that cheered me up cuz I hate thinking I'm only winning cuz of the cards.

ANYWAYS, nuff bitching about pwning (wtf is wrong with me?). Up $85 in less than 36 hours. Obv the most profitable day and a half of poker ever for me. Goot times and lol heaterments ftw. I have zilch to do tomorrow so I plan on putting in a few thousand hands. Hopefully heaterments continue. As me and Micro put it on msn: getting laid + getting paid = goot life lol.

    Laters!

Ok, for those of you who don't know what a heater looks like, I will post garf after this post. Sorry for bragging and whatnot, but I can't help it. I have yet to run this good since this op has started. I just finished a night of 2nl (with some guys from on here)/10nl (quit early to play with FTR guys)/25nl. I took $10 stack to 2 tables of 25nl not to take a shot, but more to see if its really different from 10nl. I think its safe to say that its not. I shouldn't have any problem moving up when I'm rolled, and I won't be playing it again until I'm ready, so I don't want to hear anything about being underrolled.

Anyways, finished up another $36 tonight. So gross considering Sunday morning I was at ~$220 now I'm at $320, but whatever lol. I watched ppl at 25nl tonight stack off with Q2s on the river with air and get called by 3rd pair. I'm sure I was on an INSANELY good table (2 of them actually) but still. I didnt even see stuff like that at 2nl that often. It was just nice to see that there really ARE donks out there at higher stakes. Makes me feel goot.

Anyways, rambling = not fun to read. Here is a sexy pic instead:

LOL no way in HELL I'll ever short stacker for grindage. I short stack when playing at a higher limit/moving up becuz I'm still risking the same amount I'm used to and it lets me get a feel for the blinds. I couldn't do it forever tho, even though I think I'm OK at it. Probably good enough to beat 25nl doing it, but 100bb deep is so much more profitable.

    Thanks Harley! Will do buddy.

Sick heater buddy. Nice to hear donks are still running rampant up at 25NL. Now if I could just get my ass out of 5NL! Good luck with everything and in the midnight tourney!

Just finished playing in the 2.20 donkament. ~2k players to start. Finished like 512 or something. Not my best showing, but I got gayed out by a 1k stack at the start with KK so I started out pretty much in the hole. Doubled twice with rags to 2k stack. Sat there for a while. Started to blind out and shoved Q7s, got called by KK (naturally). I was about 200 away from money, but meh I was playing for deeper finish then mincash imo.

Dunno if I'm gonna grind tonight, if I don't post again then you'll know lol.

Decided to put the grind on hold for tonight. Watched a couple FTR vids. All of them pretty much over my head (like 200nl vids and whatnot) but it was still interesting nonetheless. Just opened up 2 $3.40 sngs. Busted out in the first orbit of both with AKs when the K hit the flop to AA. Fishdonk strategy for sng: Limp AA PF. Call PF raise. Open shove flop. Profitz. lol Ah well, standard imo. Shit happens when you party naked and when you play sngs instead of grinding cashaments. *sigh* gonna grind an ass ton of hands when I wake up. Laterz!

Ok, I played some pokerz last night, but not 10nl. I played 2 2.20 HU SnG's took them both down. Played a 5.25 HU sng took it down. Played a 3.40 9 man, took 2nd for $8.10. Plus I went out with some buddies and played poker +$15. So not a bad night I guess.

I signed up for the 2nd noob HU tournament which should be LOLsickpayoutaments if we get 32 ppl (which we definitely could). But anyways, in that light I'm going to be playing a bunch of HU sngs in the coming week. I'll start out with just the fish fest that is the 2.20's then if things go well over 20-30 ill bump it to 5.25's. I won't be doing anything higher then that though I don't think. (scared imo )

Thats it for now. Roll is $320.
  54. #279
played some more HU sng's today along with the 10nl. I played 5 2.20 HU's and went 4-1. Decided to play a 5.25 4 man (dont ask me why :/) killed the first round. 2nd round I would have been sitting pretty but got screwed in a 4bet pot PF by Q7s > my AK on an A77 flop. More than half my stack was in, im shipping this all day imo. GG sir.

Fired up 8 tables of 10nl. Stacked up as usual. Heater continues. 20bb/100 over 1k hands. +2 BI's. Ran pretty poorly vs $2 stacks actually, and I wasn't doing very well until I took one big pot down on the river with a bluff (i had a read, don't ask lol) and got AA AI PF vs two morons for a $21 pot. EZ game.
  55. #280
So, I hit my first "downswing" at 10nl if you can call it that. I was playing 8 tables of 10nl and was pumped up 4.5+ BI's at one point. (I got up to take a leak so I check lol). Lil bit later, got 2nd nut flush < flopped nut flush in a 300bb pot :/. Then got set over set for a 100bb pot. Then I started to spewtilt a lil bit and decided it would be a good time to stop grinding for a bit. Watched a friend play a 210fpp sat, and some 6m 10nl. O yea, I ended up +1.6 BI's after all that lol, so I can't complain about a +BI's day imo.

Anyways, after that, I decided to play some HU sngs. I want 6-1 today so that brings my total to 10-2 at the 2.20's, so doing pretty good imo. I'll probly play 8 more and if I win at least 4 of those I'll jump up to the 5.25's. Should be interesting, although I don't think the $5 one's are any more difficult.

Also, I watched some really interesting vid's on badugi courtesy of connectthesuitor's blog. I MIGHT try that out sometime this week, not sure tho. Also, anyone interested in playing in a HU FTR tournament please apply here: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...50.html#861332.

Looks like we're gonna have a killer line up with a good sized prize pool, and someone anonymous has put out 2 bounties for $20 a piece so you might not even have to cash to win!

Thats it for now, roll is lookin' better then ever! I'll be crushing the 25enels in no time

Happy Birthday me. Turned 19. woot. Most boring b-day age ever. Probly won't go drinking or anything, becuz my life sucks and i work on my birthday.

Taking a break from grinding tonight for now. Probly fire up some more tables in an hour or so. I posted my March graph in the Micro Grinders March results thread. Basically I made $258, moved up from 2nl at the beginning of March to 10nl at the end. Accomplished a lot it seems. More than tripled my BR.

    These are my April goals:
    1.) Achieve silverstar
2.) Move up to 25nl (take shots at $500)
    3.) COMPLETE THIS OP

So far april sucks tho lol. Down 2 Bi's in the first hour. :/ Ah well itll turn around.

Ok, so the last two nights have been really gay at 10nl. I have been getting good cards, but I either get ZERO action, or I get an AK flop with QQ or JJ, or I get AA on a 89T monotone board with lots of action. I've also been flopping sets like crazy (way more than usual) but they are always on really wet boards, so I have to bet strong so I get value and charge the draws, and either all the villains fold, or they call and the turn or river brings in the draw and they bet heavy, and the board fails to pair so I have to fold it. I know I am doing +EV things (most of the time, I have been spewing due to tilt as well, which I need to cut out IMMEDIATELY) and it will eventually swing in my favor it just gets irritating lol. I have to admit that I handle it better than I used to, which is good considering I'm losing me $ and its not affecting me nearly as much.

My BR was up to an all time higher of $380 a couple days ago, but no I'm back down below $350. I can't complain considering I'm still beating 10nl for a good clip over 10k hands, but it drags on you when you fail to connect/get paid for a few thousand hands lol. Variance can be a bitch some times, spewing doesn't help either. :/

Just remembered, I went on a poker book buying binge on the 31st. I bought The Poker Mindset, Psychology of Poker, Mathematics of Poker, and Kill Phil off of Amazon for a grand total of... $66 lol. What a deal lol. $16.50 per book isn't too shabby I guess, and I'm eager to get into reading them all, especially the psychological one's.

It's obvious that I control bad beats/downswings/tilt much better than I used to, but I (and everyone) can always use more help. I also can't wait to sink my teeth into Mathematics of Poker. I understand a lot of the basic stuff (pot odds, implied odds, EV calcs, etc) but I want to learn more advanced topics (probably a lot of stuff I've never even heard of/thought about). Kill Phil was kind of an impulse buy, but I've been donking around in a few SnG's and MTT's lately and I figure it couldn't hurt.

Thats about it for now, I'll be putting in a (hopefully) gross amount of volume today. I'm aiming for upwards of 3k hands. Also, I think that's one thing that is affecting my play lately. I'm so worried about putting in hands that maybe I've added too many tables for me to handle. I'm going to cut it back from 10-12 to 8-10, depending on how I'm feeling. I was doing well playing 8 or 9 so I'll just stick to that for now. It's only 50-100 hands more an hour. I think thats worth giving up to save some winrate for now, since thats virtually gone down the tubes. (lol 2 days and im bitching )

happy birthday for yesterday dude, and congrats on the gooooot month. tripling the BR is always a good sign imo. now get yo ass to 25NL!!!!!
  61. #286
Haha thanks buddy. I doubt I'll ever manage tripling the BR again in a month, but it will be a fun goal to shoot for, and I'll definitely try to be pwning the 25nl by the end of April. Just need to cut back on spewing after I lose a stack or something and I'd be a lot closer to breakeven instead of down lol. Tilt control, tilt control, tilt control. I needz to focuz on dat sheet again.
  62. #287
Just finished my session/day of grindaments. Started out pretty shitty. At one point I was down over 3 BI's. I settled down, stopped spewing, tightened up, and started playing all around better poker, and it did the trick. I brought myself out of a downswing to +7 cents over ~2.5k hands lol. MUCH better than being down tho, so I'm pretty stoked about it.

After that, went to the gym, worked out for a bit, came back took a shower and hopped on the tables. Played for around an hour for +2 BI's lol. Ship the heater for the end of the day. Works for me tho. Finished today +2 BI's (obv lol) which is pretty sick considering how much I was down there for a while. I'm also on pace to hit silverstar/make my goal of 40k hands. I would play longer, but I have to wake up at 5:30 to go to work :/. 7-3pm and then come back and grind like crazy again lol. Thats it for now.

Yea so, Friday I didn't grind at all. Took a nap when I got home, went out drinking. Met a cute lil chica, Tory. She's like 5 foot nothing, so basically a midget next to my 6'3" but i dont even care. Hot as fuck, she's like 23 or 24 (cant remember I was intoxicated lol) good lil body, etc. Will probly (i better ) see her on the 24th at another friends party.

Then saturday, I was kinda hung over, nothing major. Woke up at 5-6pm (lol) cuz we (me and tory) stayed up til like 8 or 9 talking and stuff, plus drinking. So i drove back to the dorms, took a quick shower and went to work from 11-7 in the morning (fml). Sunday I think I played for a while but nothing HUGE. Only a couple of sessions behind pace, so nothing huge yet. Just gotta get back on the horse.

I don't smoke or chew or anything like that (although most of my friends my age thought that was the "cool" thing). I was just making the point that at 18 there is something new you can do because of your age, not that I do those things personally.

Also, as a sidenote, I find it ironic that many people look down on smoking/chewing yet no one seems to give a damn that alcohol ruins just as many if not more lives than tobacco ever did/does. Thats not to say I don't go out and drink like most other college students, its just humorous that someone with a beer in their hand, killing their liver can bitch about someone with a cigarette in their hand. Sure talk about second hand smoke all you want, have you ever gotten second hand alcohol over your car/couch/carpet/bathroom? I'll take the smoke, k? thanks.

Good for you. I hate to think of kids smoking, getting addicted, and becoming lifelong customers for the tobacco industry, which I despise. I don't mean to preach, but this has bothered me since I was in high school. Sometimes a little peer pressure is a good thing. Not that I'm your peer, lol.

You're right about is ruining lives, but that's due to getting too drunk to function. Everything in moderation, as they say. I drink too and I'm lucky that I made it through some things I did when I was your age. It seems to me that a lot of people/laws are very concerned about alcohol, so I don't know why you think otherwise. Maybe because you don't live in the States.

As far as the liver goes, it's very resilient unless you abuse it (alcoholism). Also, other meds, like acetaminophen (tylenol) are very bad for your liver. You can take blood tests to see if your liver is healthy. If you get bad results, then you better take care of it. If the numbers are good, your drinking and other meds (if any) are not a problem.

    Sorry to sidetrack your op.

lol nah its cool. And fwiw I DO live in the States. I live in Michigan lol. From what I've seen in my life, (obv uve seen otherwise) is most people don't give a damn about drinking (and coincidentally, alcoholism) in and around my hometown. It's pretty pathetic, but obviously it was presumptuous for me to assume it was like that otherwise.

Back to poker talk (although there isn't much of that either :/) in my thread.

Sorry, I got mixed up somehow about where you live. Yea, I live in the "Bible Belt" in Tennessee, where there are about four churches per sq. mile, lol. There's a constant barrage of tv commercials warning about drinking and driving, plus sobriety checkpoints during the holidays (I thought they were unconstitutional). I would change a few things if I could.

Went on another sick heater. +7.7 BI's today over 2.2k hands. Taking a short break, although I might be going to bed (its 5am here :/). But yea, it was a good day, highlighted by the hand I will be posting at the bottom of this post. It wasn't all running good (although that helped A LOT obv), I think I generally played all around solid poker. My mindset going into this session was, "Lots of hands, c-bet ONLY on good flops for it (ie Kxx rainbow, etc), value bet my hands, think about my bet sizing vs certain villains, don't pull multi street bluffs, give up if called on the flop."

It SERIOUSLY helped my game/winrate by a ridiculous amount. I managed to get villains AI with hands that might not be so willing to stack off with by playing a lil weak early in the hand, I made good +EV decisions vs the "regs" (lol), and stopped trying to get ppl off TPWK, which they NEVER fold for any amount. I was putting my villains on ranges, and playing accordingly.

All in all a VERY good session. Hopefully, I can build on this in the future. BR is getting to the point where I can start eyeballing those 25nl tables.

Heres the hand I promised: (first time I've ever done this, hopefully the last as I would like to be getting it in AHEAD of him, but meh)

Not getting it in on the flop there would be a huge mistake imo. He could have overpairs and Ahxh - You need to be deeper to even consider folding a set on the flop imo.

Nice job on the 1 outer!
