Wow, where to start. After the emotional letdown of busting the Mill last night pretty deep, I decided to keep my nose to the grindstone and play a session. It turned out to be a pretty wild session which ended in one of the most tilting moments of my poker career. I've never been closer to wanting to break something physically in a long long time.

Even though EV won't show it, I ran pretty terribly to start:

    Some beauties:

    1. I think I played this pretty optimally to maximize his bluffs.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    CO ($239.35)
    Button ($207.30)
    SB ($200.75)
    BB ($47.50)
    UTG ($196)
    Hero (MP) ($194)

Preflop: Hero is MP with J, K
1 fold, Hero bets $7, CO calls $7, 1 fold, SB calls $6, BB calls $5

    Flop: ($28) K, 4, 2 (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, CO bets $21, 2 folds, Hero calls $21

    Turn: ($70) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $56, Hero calls $56

    River: ($182) J (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $155.35 (All-In), Hero calls $110 (All-In)

    Total pot: $402

    Results:
Hero had J, K (flush, King high).
CO had A, Q (flush, Ace high).
    Outcome: CO won $444.35

    2. This is close. Villain is standard Tag reg and I've been 3-betting and being sick aggro all session. I think he's snapping AJ as well, but he's obviously super weighted towards AQ. I just couldn't conceive of c/calling and I was too tilted to c/fold.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $4.00 BB (5 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Results:
Hero had A, K (one pair, Aces).
UTG had Q, A (two pair, Aces and Queens).
    Outcome: UTG won $812.20

    3. Another close one. Villain is a passive whale so my shove here was for value, but I think there might be a way where I don't get stacked here I just don't know what it is.

Hand 5. Same villain as in hand 3, I was so sure I was valuing KK/QQ, then I owned myself.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $4.00 BB (4 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Button ($409)
    SB ($682.60)
    BB ($564.80)
    Hero (UTG) ($420)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, 5
Hero bets $12, 1 fold, SB raises $22, 1 fold, Hero calls $12

    Flop: ($52) 8, 3, A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $36, SB calls $36

    Turn: ($124) J (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $67, SB calls $67

    River: ($258) 2 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $131, SB calls $131

    Results:
SB had 10, A (one pair, Aces).
Hero had A, 5 (one pair, Aces).
    Outcome: SB won $518

And etc....some AK<KK and AK<QQ and I dug myself a solid hole. I then proceeded to make a comeback the hard way.

Hand 1. Biggest pot I won all day...Villain's a bit of an unknown and randos are usually passive I just don't see how any strong hand would take this line. Bit of a soulown imo

    No-Limit Hold'em, $4.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Flop: ($32) Q, 8, Q (2 players)
SB bets $16, Hero raises $51, SB raises $116, Hero calls $81

    Turn: ($296) K (2 players)

Until the climax of the session and basically this month. I grind up a 350BB stack at one of his tables, and he triples up to get to 1350$ deep with me. He is limp/calling just about every hand, and sure enough he limps the cutoff, button punishes 5x and I call in the BB with 77. Fish calls and board comes 972 monotone. It get checked around, turn is a brick 4 and I bet almost pot. Our fish then raises pretty big, to 200ish and I call. River is a beautiful 2 and I check intending to c/shove and ship the nearly 2.7k pot and end this month on a great note.. I check, and he bets 300$.....I go to shove and...(you already know what's coming).....my computer freezes and I have to reboot the software. When I come back I am told by Pocketfours who was sitting at the same table at the time that I got a disconnect protection so got the $$$ I had invested in the pot back but that the fish had the nut flush and was obviously calling off his entire stack and I just burned 1.3k in a fire because of my fkn computer.

Anyway, all that to say, poker can be a great test of your patience. Gonna try to get some poker in tomorrow before I head off skiing where I will detilt and try not to run into a tree.

All in all January was a decent month, a bit of 'what could have been' but hopefully promising for the rest of 2011. I also feel comfortable again playing 2/4 which is great since I really feel I can crush that as hard as I have 1/2 so hopefully rakeback + profits should increase.

Cash graph not including +4kish in tourney profits and rakeback/rakerace:
