    Default the regrind

I took some pretty serious beats in vegas. I wont be redepositing as I had planned, so it's back to square 1.

I'm going a little more aggressive this time around with BR management:
    edit: added #hands, thanks XTR.
The # hands line is structured so that I'm reasonably sure of my winrate at levels I haven't been to recently.
    Code:
     limit winrate #hands BIs $
     25nl - 5ptbb/100 - - - 20 - $500
     50nl - 4ptbb/100 - 10k - 20 - $1000
     100nl - 3ptbb/100 - 20k - 25 - $2500
     200nl - 2.5ptbb/100 - 20k - 30 - $6g
     400nl - 2ptbb/100 - 20k - 30 - $12g
     600nl - 2ptbb/100 - 20k - 30 - $18g
     1000nl - 2ptbb/100 - 20k - 30 - $30g
I'll also be playing a few more tourneys at 3% of roll, 1% for r/as

    Old op thread:

    Mini-op thread:
    http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...it-t71289.html

starting roll: $187 on stars (isn't it ironic?)

i'd reassess when you plan to move from 50nl to 100nl.
    that's cos I'm a bankroll nit.
if you're beating 50nl for 4ptBB/100 AND getting rakeback then it's only 20k hands to get another $1k and be conservatively rolled.

Welcome back dude! All the best on grinding back your way back up to the top!

I´m probably one of the few who encourage your BRM. Make sure to move back down soon enough and everything will be fine. Did you set a minimum of hands played at a certain level, to make sure your winrate goals will be somewhat reliable?

    First session back:
played 10nl at the .02/.05 level to re-acclimate myself to the multi-tabling game after a while off. I'll be playing 10nl at the .05/.1 level till $500 barring a major catastrophe that drops the roll below $150.

I ran well, I mean really well. realtime hud has the session at 416 hands at 66.47bb/100, +$27.65.

PT2 isn't importing PS hands correctly, and I really can't justify buying pt3 ATM. Since my hud works on HH files, I'll just go without for a little while if I can't fix it.
    edit: there's a patch, groovy.

A few sessions in, I'm playing some 6-max. So far each session has been a bit of a roller-coaster, and I'm running kinda bad, but I'm doing ok. I just want one of those slow-grind kind of sessions where you don't lose or win any big amounts. you just grind and grind and come out up about what you should be up.

awful session today, busted a couple times where I really didn't need to...

They're all based on reads, and apparently, my reads suck. Maybe If I go back to robotic 15-tabling I can actually put up a positive session.

My brain fell out of my ear today. It's the only remotely logical explanation for how I played today. I've been so concerned with turning online poker into a sustainable source of income that these bankroll-building and skill-building stages are getting to be arduous (and ultimately not useful). I know I'm smart enough. I know I'm capable. Part of me is starting to doubt, and that has to be stopped.

The solution to a big, seemingly insurmountable problem tends to be to break it up into smaller pieces. That's what I'll do. Small ops.

    Ideas:
be a nit - play *gasp* tighter than I'm comfortable with for 10k hands.
be a laggtard - obvious. This would probably be done at a lower limit than I'm rolled for (or just a higher # of buyins to move down or up).
one-villain or one-table - maybe for like 1k hands or so. Just focus on breaking down the game of a specific player or type of player. Even follow a player from table to table. Poker-stalker... it'd be fun anyway.
don't play - Watch a couple tables for an hour or so (maybe once a week). Maybe do it on a site where you can datamine, so you can go back thru your reads and stuff in PT.

    Suggestions?

I'll start the nit one tonight. I'll have another thread for it, but come back here for updates unrelated to the mini-op.

Dev, I don't know much about you but looking at the hands you posted I would be seriuosly concerned with playing an aggressive BR strategy. Hand #2 and hand #4 just seem REALLY spewy. Especially hand #2. Really wonder what kind of "reads" you would have to think those plays were +EV.

Honestly maybe I am WAY off here. I play $5.50 and $11 S&G's. And thats with a $850 BR so I'm a bit of a BR nit. Cash games my experience is limited but really those just look bad. Like re-think everything bad.

I really meant no offense as I think this is the first time I have flamed someone for their play. As I know I am FAR from that good. So I am really trying to be helpful, not a dick.

But really, what were you thinking??

well, those hands were posted sort of to get me humble.

Hand 2, I read him pretty dead, but I expected him to be able to fold that. Hand 4, I gave the guy a polarized range, but the low-end of the range beats me a fair amount of time. So yeah, spew.

I withdrew a bunch, and now I'm trying to rebuild. I'm finding it really tough to play well after moving down a few levels.

I think that's the problem. You don't want to be playing at this level so you want to score big so you can move up. But playing bad poker is just gonna cause you to go busto. The regrind sucks man but thats what ya gotta do...grind it back. But you gotta put in the work. Play like you know you should. There was a reason you were at the level you were, don't lose that.

    Thoughts:
We hear a lot of better players talking about giving a player credit the first time they make a big move, then looking them up if they do it again. My tac has been the opposite. I tend to give no credit. At the limits I'm playing, this is a leak.

Ok... so PS roll is at 220 or so. I haven't been playing online but I have been playing live, which means I'm going to do a little bonus whoring to rebuild online. Depositing has been a bit of trouble. ewalletXpress should rename itself to ewalletYouShouldHaveSentaFuckingCheck. When the deposit there does clear I'll be depositing to either doyle's or cake. Probably cake. Any tips for a first time bonus whore?
