Calling 3bets in position is fine if you know they're a light 3bettor and know a little about their postflop tendencies in 3bet pots (capable of c/folding low flops with overcards? great, call those 3bets. auto cbets any A or K high flop and occasionally double-barrels? great, call those 3bets with AJ+/KJ+. etc.). But in general, against players you don't have history with, you should be folding to 3bets.
Find fish, get position on them, wait for hands and valuebet them. Resist the urge to make fancy plays or catch others making them for awhile. This game is easier than you make it!
Good post Zook!
Ok I'll listen to Alexos, and this quote is now my bible... let's see what happens!
I think its more the barelling thats my problem, or facing barrels rather in 3-bet pots. I call 3-bets with hands like 88-JJ, and then it flops Q high or K high or something. I call their flop bet cause I know they will auto cbet, and then facing that next barrel...somehow I always seem to pick the wrong spots to jam on the turns.. either that.. or they always have it!
