My goal for this month is so close I can practically taste it. Sort of like when I posted back when I was becoming proficient in 25nl, now at 50nl I'm fine tuning my game and learning a lot better how to control the game to my liking. Today I made what most people would probably call a rather dumb move, but I still think I made the right decision. I'm up about half a stack on a table ($~80) and get KK. Guy in EP raises 5x the bb with a stack of ~$73 ...got no history with him, but I haven't seen him play many hands. Folds to me in MP, I reraise just under 3x. Not the best of raises, but I still think when you reraise it gets the message across. Folds back to him and he instantly pushes. Cash game and putting 1.5 buyins on the table when reraised preflop SCREAMS AA to me. I folded the cowboys....and I know I can count on one hand how many times I've done that preflop.
He "said" he had QQ in the chat when the table started up about it...who knows if he did or not. He didn't show it. I feel though that I can outplay my opponents well enough to not have to put my money in the pot preflop, especially when it's over a buyin...so I didn't feel like gambling (or worse), since the only three hands I could possibly see him having were QQ, KK and AA.
My goal was to get to $5000 in no more than 80k hands. Right now I sit at 24k hands and I'm almost there.
BRAG MOMENT: One of the things I feel best about is that of the 14 days so far this month, at the end of each day I've ended up positive in all but one. The one day I wasn't up wasn't more than a couple buyins either. I really should thank Paradise, since they got me started on 50nl
