The Slow March to $1000

10nl is not being kind to me. I'm down about 6 buy-ins since my last post. I've started my new job which is very meh. I think I'm going to keep looking and try to find something else. But at least I'll be making some money while I conitnue to look.

Back to Poker though... I'm characterizing my last downturn as 75% bad luck (coolers, ridiculous beats, that sort of thing) and 25% spew (playing too many hands and donk betting on bad flops). As I play right now and lose even more money, it's just sickening to see two players at the table winning $40 in 40 hands playing absolute crap and catching.

There's no justice.

I'm moving back down to 5nl. I can't stand the losing. It's ridiculous how often I flop top pair and lose to flopped trips. I'm down over $70 the last two weeks and I'm done for now. I need to build up some confidence and it's impossible to do if I can't win any big pots.

After my self-imposed drop down to 5nl, I've done much better and maybe learned a few things as well. I'm playing fewer hands and bluffing much less. So over the past 6 days, I've made back about 1/4 of my losses. I've also started playing some more 10nl. I think I'm getting back into it. Now I just need to avoid the vicious beats I'm been taking lately and it will all be good. Two more bad beats by the same guy. That ain't right.

Basically I can't win at 10nl. I'm only breaking even. I can't get out from under all the bad beats and top pair top kicker losses to trips. It sucks. I'm not playing much now that I'm working again. I won't be updating this OP much in the future unless something happens. Right now I'm just spinning my wheels.
