today i got a smirk from some bimbo waitress while ordering dinner tonight. i ordered a chicken ceasar salad, no dressing no croutons. she gave me a dumb look and said " so you want romaine lettuce with some parmesan cheese?" i sighed and told her w/e but srsly wtf. i had the same thing several times happen to me in vegas when i got a sprite and grenadine. "so you want a kiddie cocktail?" JFC. when your in the service business don't make fucking snide comments or make people feel stupid, it makes you look like a jackass and frankly no one wants to do business with an asshole. it's horribal for repeat business and as such should never be fucking done, customer is always right. also the easiest way for me to get you to go skimpy on your tip is to make me feel stupid, lame or embarassed so dont fucking do it.
how this relates to poker. berating the fish is one of the borderline dumbest fucking things ever to do. repeat fucking business. you berate some clownhead fish and he decides, well mebbe i dont want to play with this jackass and he finds another table. you berate some droolcupping mouth breather live and mebbe he doesn't come back to the place where u regularly frequent, thats one less braindead moran in your games. i don't see how i can make this any clearer don't fucking berate anyone at the tables, the only exception to this rule is when a reg berates a fish. tear that reg a new asshole. it's fkn bad enough that people are getting better at poker but u want to scare away the sillybonks as well? absurdity.
