Around the NBA | Stoudemire rehab progressing wellBy Israel [email protected]here were some who believed the prognosis of Amare Stoudemire missing four months after microfracture knee surgery was just a ploy to keep season-ticket sales from plummeting, and that the truth was Stoudemire would miss the whole season.
But the doubters are starting to believe, now that Stoudemire is back on the court with his team shooting free throws, moving better each day with some discomfort but no pain.
According to doctors and therapists, Stoudemire is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation, though it doesn't mean he will be on the floor before the All-Star break.
''I have to be healthy, and I have to be 100 percent, no doubt,'' Stoudemire said. ``. . . I can't wait to play and see how much better we can be with myself in the equation. If everything keeps moving at this pace and there are no setbacks, I should be out there before long.''
