Any linux users here?

Just out of curiosity. I've been using linux for about 5 years now. Ubuntu since 5.10 - Suse before that.
I first signed up at PartyPoker because it was the only site that had a java client back then. Now I have windows in a virtual machine to run the poker clients. That works pretty well. - The PP Anywhere client is not so great, but it's good enough for the laptop.

I've been using linux for like six or seven years I think? I don't even have windows on any of my computers anymore. Now that firefox (and more recently/importantly, flash) works basically the same as windows and I don't play games as much anymore I really don't want to deal with reinstalling windows every time it breaks itself.

slackware -> gentoo -> ubuntu.

I got PokerStars working fine in ubuntu running under WINE and I even got PokerTracker to run. I'm afraid to buy PokerTracker though because I don't know if I could get it to work again on another computer if this one breaks and I really really don't want another app making me use windows again.

My laptop is running xubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) with the latest version of WINE and both Stars and FT work nicely. Could never get PokerTracker working on previous installs but haven't tried it on this one.

Ubuntu (Hardy) with XP on VirtualBox instance when I need windows.

www.virtualbox.org if you want to pick it up - it's the most stable VM I've tried. Of course, you need a valid Windows license to get XP on there but it's a lot less hassle.

Hmmm... I was seriously thinking about starting at a second site. I currently only play PartyPoker.
So you guys have good experience with Stars and Full Tilt? Which one would you say is ahead in fish-level and choice of microstakes games (other than HE)?

I have never had a problem with Stars on linux. For me fulltilt's audio is buggy (enough that I NEED to turn it off to play) and it crashes occasionally, but it might just be my computer as a lot of things crash randomly on it (fkcing opteron.) Do other people have better luck? (in WINE that is, I run linux so I don't have to run windows :P)

If you're looking for non HE games I'd go with stars over FT. I haven't spent a whole lot of time on FT but the only time I looked the bottom limits (.5/.10) for Omaha H/L they only had a couple tables running.

(NOTE: in the process of checking FT's table selection it kept crashing when I left the HE tab and I gave up.)

I don't see where the hassle is. WINE runs beautifully - it just works. And no need for an XP licence.

linux user for a about 8 years here. Tried a lot of distros (slackware, mandrake, suse, redhat, corel ...) and finally settled on Debian Sid.

For Poker I have a VirtualBox VM setup. I've tried wine, but there would always be some small annoying glitch with most rooms. So this solution works best for me.
