Like I say, I'm running the latest Ubuntu/WINE/Stars client and have no problems at all.

www.virtualbox.org if you want to pick it up - it's the most stable VM I've tried. Of course, you need a valid Windows license to get XP on there but it's a lot less hassle.
I don't see where the hassle is. WINE runs beautifully - it just works. And no need for an XP licence.
