Default Anyone here have the balls to play poker at work

This has been a constant thought in my head ever since I saw you can play pacific poker on their site with no download. Do any of you do this. Do you know what kind of stuff this would leave on your computer or obvious things that would go through a network and let the network administrator know what u r doing. I am so close to doing it but at the moment I prefer to keep my job even though I hate it. The IT dude here is cool as hell but not so cool where I would actually ask him about it. I think that is a little too much for him to let slide.

Someone here before was talking about remote accessing your computer at home from work. Would that be a good way to get away with it where they couldnt tell what you were actually doing. Then I could play on all my poker sites hehe.

I played at work all the time when I was an undergrad. None of the computers on campus would allow you to download and install anything to them so I just put X poker software on a flash drive, plugged it into a USB port and off I went. I made more money playing poker than I did from the job, but the fact they were basically paying me to play was nice so I kept working there. After working there awhile I sorta "found" a way to get administrative access so I could directly download software. I really wasn't worried about getting fired if they found out because they loved me there and I seriously doubt they would've cared all that much to begin with. Quite honestly I wouldn't have cared if they did actually fire me

The job was cake anyways. The physics department paid me the same as the grad students to sit at a desk and answer the occasional phone call so the secretaries' time wouldn't be spent dealing with morons on the phone... Yes, I know. I thought that was their job to begin with, but I wasn't complaining about the set up. It was actually at this job that I first came across FTR.

You guys would've been proud of me though. I would put people on hold if I was involved in a big hand or was heads-up in a SNG(sometimes this took several minutes) and all the while the other people in the office would walk by thank me for helping them out...

Oh man HELL YEAH!!!!! I BOW DOWN TO YOUR GREATNESS!!!!!! That reminds of myself so much except the fact that I would probably just hit the night button as soon as it rang so the auto answer crap would pick it up. If I got fired I would only care for like 5 minutes when I was bitching em out then I would be cool. I loved it when I was just a student. I probably make about the same on poker as I do working if I played as much as I worked. The problem is I'll have to get a loan for a house sometime and need some sort of employment history since from the time I graduated high school until the summer before my senior in college (last summer) I didnt work. I always found ways to make a bunch of money so I never needed a job.

i've mentioned it before, but i'll mention it again

    www.tightvnc.com and www.ultravnc.com

you'll need to know a little bit of computer knowledge to get it set up. but basically it will set up a server on your HOME computer. then from work you can remotely control your computer at home.

so now you can do everything you could with your home computer, without physically being there. this means you can surf pr0n, play poker, whatever cuz it's not the company computer you're using anyways.

the only thing any administrator can track will be the IP address you connect to. if you're paranoid you can also encrypt the connection...but since it's all mouse movements and clicks it's probably not so useful. but if you're gonna post on FTR then yeah maybe it would be a good idea.

oh yeah, you can connect to your computer from any java enabled browser, or you can use a viewer program that fits on a floppy.

PM me if you need help setting it up

I've said it before. I'll say it til the cows come home. My job is tops. I can pretty much play poker anytime I want at work. The night shifts are all about poker. And the day shifts, I play around noon to the end of my shift. I just sit out when a call comes in. Although playing tournaments at work is hard. So mostly it's micro ring games at work.

Yes. And no it had nothing to do with drugs but it was providing people with a certain commodity I guess you could say.
