To each their own. I think meaningful tattoos have some merit. Cliche tattoos are just that (tribal armbands, for example - u so tough, u and a million other guys).

If you want a serious career in business, you should be able to hide any tattoo you get, and any woman that gets a tattoo should think about how crappy it's gonna look in their wedding pictures if it's in the wrong place. I don't get the ankle/calf tats either - you're gonna look great in stilettos at that important business reception, baby.

I watch LA Ink and Miami Ink sometimes and think some of those tats are amazing and done for the right reasons.
