cafe brasil was really good. Its a small little counter service joint thats byob. Dinner plates (very satisfying portions) were like 12$ and came with soup or salad, rice and a side of beans iirc. I had the dark meat chicken and the salmon, I pretty much licked the plate both times.

Then there was a soul food place that I think was simply named "soul food kitchen." Its kitty corner to another soul food place that I didnt get a chance to eat at named "Gi Gi's." In all honesty Ive had better soul food in chicago, however the place I ate at was still quite good. Their mac and cheese was some of the best soul food style mac and cheese Ive had.
