I read the book when I was 10 and liked it very much. However, the movie was just OK. After Lord of the Rings (which I never read), the battle scene in Narnia seemed quit lame. The worst part is when they fast-forward through part of the battle scene. You have to sit through character development and whatnot for hours and then they fast-forward through what is supposd to be the climax of the story. And it's one of those deals where there's supposed to be a raging battle, yet characters are standing 5 feet away from a melee in an open field with nice flowers and butterflies staring down somebody 100 feet away.
The special effects in parts were annoying too. Did they really have to computer animate the witch's stags (or whatever they are)? It looked so fake and unneccesary as they glided over the snow all in usison.
I went thinking at the very least it should be entertaining and that's what I got. Not much wow factor. It could just be that the book wasn't deep enough to warrant anything more than they produced.
