    Default Congrats nomofoshobro

Short story: Yesterday nomofoshobro played his FIRST live tournament ever and finished 8th for 64 Euros! Congrats man!!

Long story: nomofoshobro and myself hit the Concord Card Casino in Vienna (Europe) for a NL Rebuy Tournament. There were about 50 people (yeah, in Vienna you can be glad if someone knows the word "poker"), buy-in was 5+2 Euro and the rebuys/addons were 10 Euros.
Starting chips 1000 with blinds beginning at 25/25, 25/50,....

9 places (final table) got paid, I finished 12th (my 2nd ever live tournament) and nomofoshobro finished 8th. The last hand for him was a flush and straight draw (15 outs) that didn't hit.

The most amazing thing I saw: The big blind was at about 100 and a player went all-in in the course of a hand. He got called and eventually lost the pot. He stood up, left the tournament area and went for the bar, ready to leave the casino.
The dealer was still counting all the chips in the pot because it was a 3 way all-in with a sidepot. The dealer discovered, that the guy who had just left had still about 150 in chips left. He called the tournament director and the tournament director called the guy back, telling him that he has to play his last chips.
The guy was like "wtf? I only have 1BB left, the tournament is over, so don't bother me". He came back anyway and moved allin without even looking at his cards or sitting down. 3 or 4 people called and he won the pot with something like 53o. The very next hand he at least looked at them but was still standing, ready to go home. He again went all-in and got called again by about 3 people. He had AQo and cracked another guys AKs . Now he sat down .. the very next hand he AGAIN went allin preflop and got called again (by 2 players I think). This time he had AK and it held up.
The whole table was like "wtf is going on here?? This guy was already gone and after 3 consecutive allins he is now the chipleader at our table??"
In the end he busted out right before me .. man this would have been a story, if he would have made the final table

As for my hands...nothing spectacular here. I doubled up after a couple of hands with a nut flush, then went card dead for some time. Being a midstack I flopped two pair and got called all the way by a player who got a pair on the turn and a second pair on the river to beat my 2 pairs.
Mid-late in the tournament I went allin with AK against a guy with pocket 8s .. the flop came AAK, sweet
After this hand my tournament was practically over. No cards, blinds were huge (I always had around 5-10x BB) and I got pushed around by the chip leader who was sitting 2 seats to my right. One time he raised my blind again and I pushed all-in with ATs. He called and showed ATo for a split pot..dooh ... a few hands later I got AA and tried to at least get some chips, so I only min-raised. Everyone folded and I only collected the blinds .. dooh again.
My last hand was AT on the button and I pushed all-in on the blinds. One guy with A6 called and the other guy thought for about 5 minutes and made the call with pocket 88s (I had slightly more chips than he had). The board was all rags and his 8s held up.

It was so much fun and we will hit the Concord Card Casino again in 2 weeks for the next 5+2 NL tournament

Maybe nomofoshobro will share some of his experience

    thanks black.....it was fun.

looking forward to the next one.

i suck at remembering all the details of my specific hands. i just remember that i only sucked out one time to knock out a short stack. AQs against my A9o. i raised him preflop he called. Axx on the flop. 9 on the turn. no help for him on the river. i also had one hand where accumulated a big stack of chips when my JJ help up against A10 and some other caller. i decimated the A10's stack and i believe it knocked the other person out.

all in all, it was difficult at first to adjust to live play. i discovered that seat 1 (and i imagine also seat 9) really suck because you can't see what is going on the other side. also, all the information that i have come to take for granted online, i was having figure out constantly. how much is in the pot? how many chips does that guy have? etc.

definitely looking forward to doing it again.

ps. maybe this should be in poker etcetera? just a thought. i thought about posting my cash in the winner's circle post in MTT strategy, but reconsidered after i saw all the amazing stuff that people have been doing. IMO, this one is insignificant in comparison. not to mention that all the posts in there are for online tourneys.
