This and all of this. I've left parties to go get more beer because all they had was bud light.

Well only 3 protests for bud light so far... that is better than I thought it would do.

I admit that I think it is a cheaply made/overmarketed, crappy beer that doesn't have much (any?) flavor and its ABV is too low. Then again I don't really dislike it, and I haven't come across many people who have had a real problem with it, even among non-beer drinkers. Perception is also probably heavily affected by location and demographics. I live in midwestern U.S. That fact is not lost on me.

I am curious what others would suggest as a general crowd pleaser. Say you need to run to the nearest store or gas station to pick up 1 type of beer for a mixed group of people, what do you get? Or are those preconditions too strict?

I'd personally grab Miller Lite (I almost always have some at my house, actually), but I'd expect some people to complain that they don't like miller and they prefer bud. I'm in the midwest, too, and I see Miller Lite vs. Bud Light kind of like the Coke vs. Pepsi argument, except people are more adamantly on one side or the other.

I am the odd one who doesn't really have a strong preference between BL/ML or Coke/Pepsi. Miller Lite is obviously the other big one but in my experience firmly in the #2 spot as far as popularity/ubiquity. Nothing else is even close.

Might not work in the Midwest, but corona is probably the easiest crowd pleaser on the West Coast

However, the region I understand the least is the Midwest. They're white and vote blue in national elections and red in state elections. They're Protestants, but not exactly Southern Protestants; instead they're a mix between Yankees and Appalachians, but not Catholics like most Democrat Yankees.
