Mr. Jeffrey Monday has served as principal of Messmer since 1997. Mr. Monday began his career at Messmer in 1988. During his eighteen years at Messmer, he has been a mathematics teacher, vice principal, advisor, and coach. Mr. Monday serves on a number of school committees and is a director on the Messmer Catholic Schools' Board.
Mr. Monday is a product of Catholic education. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. At Creighton, he was the President of the Student Education Association and was named "Leader of the Year" by the University. He received a Master's degree in Administration and Supervision from Marquette University in 1995. In 2002, he was named Young Alumnus of the Year at Marquette University's School of Education.
Mr. Monday serves as a mentor for students studying School Administration at Cardinal Stritch University where he has taken graduate courses. He is currently on the ministry council of the House of Peace and is a member of the PAVE Johnsonville Fellows Program, a consortium of successful urban school leaders.
In addition to his role as principal of Messmer, Mr. Monday has developed training programs for Northwestern Mutual and has been a mathematics instructor at Alverno College. He has also been an instructor in the St. Mary's University of Minnesota satellite program. He has presented at several education conferences, including the National Catholic Education Association. He was selected as a member of the FBI Citizen's Academy in 2001-02. In 2006, Mr. Monday was recognized by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for his outstanding leadership in Catholic education.
Under the steady, encouraging and strong leadership of Br. Bob Smith and Mr. Jeff Monday, Messmer is at its peak student enrollment of over 1,000 students and has been recognized as a model for urban, Catholic education. The school has received national recognition and acclaim for its success and pioneering leadership in School Choice.
