I didn't think it was that bad - it's not aimed at people playing poker, it's intended for blackjack, craps, roueltte & slots
If when you have a big win on a slot machine, you have a strong urget to go back and gamble some more then yes, that is a pointer towards compulsive behaviour.
Winning at a fixed-odds game is different to crushing a table.
I'm reading "Ace On The River" at the moment, and it's got a lot of counter-intuitive advice, such as "playing above your bankroll is fine if it's a good game... i.e. there are some live players there.
edit: obviously he's talking about live middle to high limit games, not $50NL on the internet.
