    Default Ebay questions

Ok well here is the thing; I was watching a 40 year old virgin when he goes to that chicks store the eBay store where people bring stuff to her to sell for them. I was wondering if any of you guys new websites where companies actually do this. I am looking to venture into this after I graduate. This kind of store is perfect for my town I am just looking for a tad bit more info.

Looking for websites the personal eBay stores not eBay links to stores.

    Thanks,

    Muxy

I read and article or saw a thing on the news about this. Some younger kids set up a business doing the same thing. I think ideas like this are great, but if you get your 'big idea' from a first run movie, its probably not that big of an idea, atleast not anymore. Setting up a business like this is like watching scarface to learn how to make it sellin coke.
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.

I could see if this is I lived in a city with hundreds of thousands of people like Toronto, NY, huge cities but you don’t see I live in eastern Canada the slower part of Canada if you will. (Yes self-pwnage), my town consists of 60-100k people and I think this would be a booming hit in my city personally I don’t think it would be a great idea in a bigger city.

Here's my businsess plan for you.

Sell some stuff that is yours.

Then sell some stuff that used to be somebode else's -- garage sale, thrift store.
    • You learn how to research and write about crap (this is the stuff you'll be getting, right? Crap.)
You'll learn about a bunch of categories of product (you really don't want to sell everything that is brought to you, right? A lot of it will really BE crap --" can you get anything for my Tony Orlando collection?")
You might find a specialty along the way (these consignment outfits do OK, but the 20%margins are relatively slim, IMHO - beef it up with easy, repetitive sales.)

By that time you'll have found and seen resources to make those small jobs easier (shipping, billing, tracking, hosting, templates.) And you'll be able to apply it on a larger scale. You'll have a reputation built up to insure better prices for you and your customers (20% of more is more.) You'll be able to decide if you can do this day after day -- wheeling and dealing is fun, but clean-photo-research-describe-post-answer-ship-placate&pay can get old. But I recommend starting now, not later.
    I'm a know-it-all.

    No, really.

We have one of these (an actual store devoted only to selling things on eBay). There's also one located within a grocery store that does things like this for you...

It's a good idea me thinks. You don't have anything to sell? GREAT! Sell other people's (sometimes) worthless crap and get a cut for doing so. Brilliant!
