    Default FINDING NOOOOOBIE POSTS

i got this idea after looking for a thread to bump and coming over lots of funny ones. the point is to search old threads and find newbies posts by people and make fun of them here.

    ill start:
    http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...poker-2314.htm

    ha!

elipsesjeff has lots of funny ones, but lets try to limit it to one or two per person.

I am embarrased by the things i've said in the past

It's pretty neat seeing how the members have grown as a community somewhat.

That way even making it to the money which, IMO, generally is a waste of time, actually makes it worth it. In general, I've found that over the whole tourney you have to play two hands better than everyone else (doubling up twice early essentially gives you the re-buy and the add-on), but over the whole tourney that can be done more often than not. I agree that at a freeze out tourney 11BB is not time for desperation. But in a re-buy add-on it was. We were in the last stage before the first break where basically the whole field (except for me) adds-on. I don't play just to survive, I play to win so I did feel I needed to make a move with this hand, I just didnt like my position.
Long story short - I raised 400. Two callers (one guy in mid-position other guy was button). Flop came out A58 (two hearts). I checked, second guy bet 700 (putting me all-in), third guy called, I folded. Second guy ended up losing with 8K spades versus A5 os.
So looking back I thought I screwed up by my normal raise preflop - thought I shoulda pushed (and probably woulda stolen the blinds). But now I'm thinking just cuz I lost doesn't mean I made the worst play (just fishing for opinions).

    gabe-

just curious how the $.05/$.10 LIMIT games have been treating you lately:

    http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ghlight=#37950

dude you lost like $1.25 on that first hand alone.

i think we might want to start locking, archiving and hiding all posts older than 5 days for the protection of the integrity of the senior members here. besides, since the rules of poker change almost on a daily basis, it's not like the same questions will get asked over and over and over again anyway. this is gonna get ugly, fast lol...
In answer to your question... it depends...

I was getting lucky as hell and destroying this table. Sick... If it wasn't for luck I wouldn't have been so misled. But my ability to come up with excuses was already pretty well developed!

My first post, not a huge LOL or anything, but it's funny how far I've come...and even funnier how far I have yet to go.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

wow - these are great...This was a great idea for a thread - As a small stakes NL player, I find it inspiring that Gabe was playing 10NL only a year and 1/2 ago...Wow - So maybe it doesn't take 12 years to move up a couple levels...Just lots of practice, lots of reading and lots of asking for help -

the best line is "quit digging up posts that are only a week old" lmfao at that one

Actually, I think Fnord Trashed most of my original posts. But, yeah, they were pretty bad.
