    Default Firefox, Google and Pacman

So, I fire up my comp this a.m., open up my browser's homepage (Firefox AOL-not that I use AOL, I must justify ), and I am greeted by background sounds of Pacman sirens and gobbling dots. Close, then re-open...same. When I use IE....nothing.

Worries set in about an infection. Run CCleaner, HJT, MBAM, Spybot. All clean. Open FF...Pacman sounds still greet me. Run ComboFix....clean.

I go to another, "clean" computer to google "FF and Pacman sounds"...and the same issue appears on it when I open the (FF) browser!! Go to google.com, any way...and google's logo is a Pacman eating dots with the sound playing!! I google the terms, and find that a lot () of people are having the same issue. Turns out that if you have CoolPreviews with FF, and go to a page that links to google.com, you will be serenaded by the hungry Pacman as long as your browser is open.

Solution: disable CoolPreviews until Google decides to change their current logo set-up.

Brag: Helpful tip for many people experiencing this problem.
    Beat: Annoying narrative.
Variance: Set the emoticon-density record for a post on FTR.

lol @ this being a "problem"

a bit cheeky of google to have it start auto-playing when you load up the home page though. i mean that's annoying as hell if you're at work or something.

This is by far hte best thing google has done with their search engine as a joke. Even better than when they rick rolled the world.

My wife inadvertently had two home pages setup in IE so whenever she opened the app a Google page would appear in a background tab. Naturally I noticed this weeks ago on her computer, but never mentioned it to her because it was fairly harmless.

I almost cried in laughter last week though when she called me in a panic because she was almost certain a friend of hers had given her the "pacman virus" ( I am not making that up, its what she called it) from a facebook link. She felt pretty silly when I explained what was really going on.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.
