My discovery of Rizen being an old clan mate got me reminiscing in a big way. I would love to see if any of you have similar experiences but started a new thread cause in some minor ways a $160K win is more important than on line clan warfare.

So a few Questions:

1. What game got you started with on line First Person Shooters?

2. What games /gametypes did you play the most during what timeframe?

3. Did you Play in an organized clan?

4. What Names did you play as?

I will start:

1. I started out playing LAN matches with Doom2 at work then Heretic and Hexen on line on a 486/50 with 340MB HD but progressed immediately to Quake on line as soon as I got a smokin Pentium MMX 200MHz Machine with 64 MB RAM and a 6 GB hard Drive. Quake2 was out soon after i got the 200MMX. I thought that 6 GB was essentially infinite storage until i started downloading Quake2 Maps.

2. Early history Quake2 (mostly the Action mod) and Unreal (serpentine mod. what can i say I like modern weapons mods as much as i like shooting my own pistols n rifles) but as soon as Unreal Tournament came out that was my only game I played.

UT convinced me to buy my first Video Card and Memory upgrades ever. 1st time i ever openned a PC was to make UT better. UT lasted like 4 years (1999-2003) on line for me but i kinda of stopped playing because at first I was a skilled player on 56K when 30-50% of people had broadband but in the end i was like the OMEGA MAN on 56K cause NO ONE used it for FPSs anymore. Then i stopped.

3. We were the [AoG] (Army of Good) which was a bunch of like minded over 21 (mostly) players who despised all the cussing posing immature asswipes ruining a fine on line community. We were gentleman soldiers. We killed them on line trolling punks with guns and etiquette. We were OGL ranked at 28-35ish for a while worldwide. Then some of our younger more MAJORLY skilled guys formed a sister clan for "more serious" play and the remainder became the [4F] (For Fun) clan and actually this group was even more fun. The Friday Night Fights during this period were absolutely amazing.

When UT2004 came out I played it and UT like 50/50 but UT2K4 was even more dominated by broadband and by jerks so i slipped out of the picture overall.

4. I was SuperDave9x19 99.99% of the time except when our clan had "alias nite" when we'd all play under odd names and try to ID each other by playstyle. Or by crappy ping and I was easily IDd.

I miss it. If i ever real broadband I will do it again most likely.
