Default Freeroll tournaments vs low buy in tournaments

I just got 1st place in Interpoker's saturday $3000 freeroll and won $600. I'm thinking about using that money to enter some low buy in tournaments(5$ or 10$) and was wondering if there is any real difference between the two. Let me know what your guys' experiences with the two have been and if there is a big difference between them.

    Congrats on the win.

MTTs have some pretty high variance; playing them exclusively is probably the quickest way to blow that cash. You should think about adding SNGs to your mix, as something to add consistancy to your profits.
Is that guy still part of the forum??

I have never played a freeroll and I have never played a MTT w/ buy-in below $20, so I can't comment on the difference. I think the only difference is the # of entries is probably lower in low buy-in.

But forget that. If you have the game to win a freeroll with a bjillion entries, you have the game to play cash games and SNG's.

As noted above, w/ a $600 BR you can comfortably expand into $5 SNG's.

Here's why you should not move up: 1. You like wasting endless hours trying to hit the lottery on a gigantic freeroll with a minimal return on time invested; 2. You don't want to improve your game and are content playing for nothing. 3. You are playing for love of game and do not intend to win money and you are comfortable only playing for free.
Send lawyers, guns and money - the sh*t has hit the fan!
