FTR Auckland Meetup Trip Report

Met up with my first FTR'er in real life a couple of weeks ago. The evening surpassed my expectations in many ways:

1) Christian (silu73) was not a weirdo.
2) In fact, he was quite cool.
3) He even has good taste in music.
4) We didn't bore or piss off my fiancee with too much poker talk.
5) Christian gave us lots of great tips for our New Zealand travels.
6) He took us to a Belgian pub for pots of awesome New Zealand mussels.
7) Christian paid for dinner!

All in all, a very fun evening. It did not discourage me from meeting other FTR'ers in the future. Cheers Christian!

It was great to meet zook and his fiancee during their NZ trip. Initially I planned to rob them but given they were so nice (and had great taste in music) I changed my mind and shouted dinner.

I hope you had a great time in NZ and it was a pleasure meeting a fellow FTR member on their travels.

btw, inviting FTR members for dinner is +ev as not long after I won my first major MTT win for 5k.

I've met like ten or twelve people from FTR and all of them have been great. It's weird how you feel like a dork for meeting people from the internet, then you meet them and you realize you've probably met people you'll be friends with for life.

Had an amazing time the rest of our three weeks in NZ. No more pics from that night with Christian, but tons more from the rest of the trip. I'll post some and longer trip reports (from NZ, S. Africa & Costa Rica) in the next week or two.
