I don't think she was trying to accomplish anything, probably just curiousity.
One thing I'm wondering is if the Starks (and others fighting with Robb Stark) used to worship the dragons, if it's likely that they will ally with Dany at some point once they find that she again possesses dragons?
Possibly Starks/Dany versus Lannisters at some point in an attempt to put the rightful Targaryen heir on the throne? But that seems like a fairly easy win for them?
