The hound is going to join the brotherhood. Trial by combat will be interrupted midway by Melisandre, and she will convert him. Patch Adams is a new interesting bad ass, so he can't just die, and The Hound's arc simply can't end here. Combine that with The Hound's history with fire, and his need for a spiritual awakening or rebirth of sorts...
